Operations Support System Engineer - 5G ORAN Networks (5-7 yrs)

Role Summary :

We are looking for an experienced OSS Engineer to manage, monitor, and optimize. the Operations Support Systems (OSS) for 5G Open RAN networks.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration, configuration, and operation of OSS platforms to support O-RAN components such as CU, DU, and RU, while enabling advanced network automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities :

OSS Integration and Management :

- Deploy, configure, and maintain OSS solutions for 5G Open RAN environments.

- Ensure seamless integration of O-RAN components (CU, DU, RU) into OSS platforms.

Network Monitoring and Automation :

- Monitor network KPIs, alarms, and performance metrics using OSS tools.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts for fault management and performance optimization.

Troubleshooting and Support :

- Analyze OSS-generated alarms and logs to identify and resolve network issues.

- Coordinate with multi-vendor teams for fault resolution and interoperability challenges.

Configuration and Inventory Management :

- Manage network configuration databases and ensure accurate inventory records.

- Handle network provisioning and configuration updates for O-RAN elements.

Reporting and Analytics :

- Generate reports on network performance, SLA compliance, and fault trends.

- Provide insights to optimize network performance and resource utilization.

Compliance and Security :

- Ensure OSS solutions adhere to industry standards like 3GPP, O-RAN Alliance, and security best practices.

- Manage user access and secure interfaces for OSS tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in OSS roles for telecom networks.

- Strong understanding of Open RAN architecture and interfaces (F1, E2, O1, A1).

- Hands-on experience with OSS platforms (i.e., Ericsson ENM, Nokia NetAct, Huawei U2020).

Technical Skills :

- Expertise in 5G network architecture, particularly O-RAN (CU, DU, RU).

- Knowledge of network management protocols (SNMP, NETCONF, RESTCONF).

- Familiarity with NFV, cloud-native tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.

- Experience with network monitoring tools and KPI analysis.

Soft Skills :

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment.
