What Youll Do

The People Digital Product Portfolio is the largest most dynamic product portfolio within BCG s Digital Products Organization. We enable the global technology for BCG s entire People Function including Recruiting; Talent Management (Staffing, Mobility, Career Development); LD; and Core HR (including Workday, Compensation, Benefits). Over the past two years, the People Digital Product Portfolio has more than doubled in size, and there is more growth to come.

We are seeking a System Quality Engineer Chapter Lead to lead and drive quality initiatives across manual and automated testing efforts over our HR and Rewards data products. This role requires strong leadership to manage a team of quality engineers, ensuring robust testing strategies for both software applications and data pipelines, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing quality standards, automation frameworks, and data validation methodologies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Lead and manage a team of manual and automation quality engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement test strategies, frameworks, and best practices for both system, functional, and data validation testing (ETL testing).
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve testing efficiency, ensuring coverage for APIs, UI, databases, and backend systems.
  • Oversee the design, execution, and maintenance of manual and automated test cases to validate system functionality and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with software development, DevOps, and data engineering teams to integrate testing processes into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define and track key quality metrics (KPIs) such as defect rates, test coverage, and automation effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices, security requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects, identifying opportunities to prevent recurring issues.
  • Establish and maintain ETL testing strategies, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and transformation validation in large-scale data processing systems.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance test automation, performance testing, and data validation.
  • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and align testing efforts accordingly.


What Youll Bring

  • 10+ years overall QA experience and 2+ years in team management role
  • Strong experience with automated test tools and frameworks.
  • Exposure to APM or similar tools (e.g. AppDynamics, DataDog, Splunk, etc.)
  • Experience testing (and automating) payroll applications including complex calculation engines that demand highly accurate and repeatable output.
  • Experience working in a scrum environment, with the ability to coach and advocate for Agile best practices.
  • Experience with HCM tool (preferably Workday) and data integrations.
  • AI knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with performance load testing tools is an added advantage.
  • Background with BDD/TDD techniques and tools preferred

You ll work closely with a cross-functional team of stakeholders, product owners, software engineers and analysts, all working in a fast-paced Agile environment.
