Job Description

Role Purpose:

This individual is responsible for driving new business opportunities and expanding the company's market presence in India. This position involves strategic planning, identifying and securing new clients, and fostering strong relationships to achieve sales targets while working closely with the internal and external stakeholders.


Role & responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve the overall revenue and growth targets

  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure a steady flow of prospects to expand the business.
  • Periodically monitor and analyze the sales performance, including key metrics and KPIs to optimize sales processes and outcomes and identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement data-driven approaches to optimize sales to achieve the desired outcomes

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements

  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities and generate analytics to evaluate them
  • Continuously monitor and adjust strategies based on market feedback and sales performance.
  • Pursue new business opportunities by participating in exhibitions, visiting customers, showcasing our products, etc.
  • Prepare and present proposals to potential clients and engage in contract negotiations that align with the Companys business objectives, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Actively participating in trade exhibitions, industry expos, and trade shows to showcase the companys products and services to increase brand visibility, network with potential clients and partners, gather market intelligence, and generate leads.
  • Follow-up with opportunities identified exhibitions to convert leads into sales and to evaluate the success of the exhibition participation.

Build and nurture client relationships and customer satisfaction

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by regularly communicating with them to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Ensure effective Customer Management for building trust-based relations to create business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment and achieve business objectives.

New Vendor Development

  • Identify potential vendors based on business needs and conduct an initial assessment to ensure the viability of the vendor for our product line.
  • Establish multiple vendor relationships for competitive procurement at competitive prices.
  • Centralize vendor information, manage vendor relationships, track performance, and ensure timely payments for smooth and efficient workflow for procurement.
  • Ensure specific quality standards are set up for measuring vendor performance related to quality, product and service outcomes.

Delivering Technical Presentations and Demonstrating Product Solutions

  • Delivering technical presentations to prospective clients, illustrating how the products features and capabilities align with customers specific needs and requirements and build confidence in the products ability to solve the clients problems, thereby driving the sales process forward.

Report Management

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities and outcomes and share insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports (daily/weekly/monthly) showcasing the business development activities conducted in the given duration

Required Skill Sets

  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel

Experience:

  • 7 to 10 years of sales management experience with a proven track record
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry added preference

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors / Masters in Engineering (Electrical or related discipline)
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
