Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Governance Framework: Assist in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive data governance framework, including data policies, standards, and procedures.
2. Data Stewardship: Collaborate with data stewards across the organization to define data ownership, responsibilities, and accountability for data quality and integrity.
3. Data Quality Management: Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and reporting mechanisms to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.
4. Data Documentation: Maintain a centralized repository of data definitions, metadata, and data lineage to facilitate understanding and traceability of data assets.
5. Compliance: Ensure data governance practices align with relevant data privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA).
6. Data Access and Security: Establish access controls, data classification, and security measures to safeguard sensitive data and control unauthorized access.
7. Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee data lifecycle processes, including data acquisition, transformation, storage, and archiving, to optimize data management efficiency.
8. Data Governance Training: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on data governance principles and best practices.
9. Data Governance Tools: Utilize data governance tools and software to automate and streamline data management processes.
10. Data Governance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives.
11. Data Governance Communication: Communicate data governance policies, procedures, and updates to stakeholders across the organization.
12. Issue Resolution: Investigate and address data-related issues, data quality incidents, and data breaches promptly.
13. Data Governance Committee: Participate in or support a data governance committee or council that includes representatives from various business units.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Data Management, Information Technology, Business).
5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality tools, and data governance software. • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Problem-solving skills to address data-related issues.
Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration concepts is a plus. • Certification in data governance (e.g., CDMP) is desirable
