The job holder will join the EIA Engineering department, which is part of MCP s project delivery organization.
Your long experience in plant electrification, instrumentation and automation, excellent communication skills and strong ability to work in an international and multi-disciplinary team, are the skills you need to respond flexibly to the daily requirements of a fast-moving business.
As Senior Project Engineer (f/m/x) for Automation, you will :
- Analyze contracts, understand quality requirements, and identify technical risks and opportunities.
- Develop and implement engineering execution concepts to meet objectives and budgets.
- Prepare inquiries, follow up on bids, and negotiate contracts for external engineering services.
- Develop and execute engineering procedures to achieve quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure alignment and delivery targets.
- Oversee basic and detailed engineering of internal and subcontracted work.
- Support project members in your discipline and cooperate with project management and customers.
- Develop optimized technical concepts to secure technical leadership and client satisfaction.
- Conduct engineering analyses to produce and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop and implement control system architectures and detailed design specifications
- Implement control methodologies in DCS, PLC, or HMI platforms with a strong understanding of various programming languages
- Take end-to-end responsibility for DCS/PLC systems.
- Developing standard working procedures for effectively integrating third party control systems and vendor coordination
- Write functional requirements based on control philosophy, including descriptions of control loops, interlocks, and alarms
- Provide coaching and training within your area of responsibility.
- Write procedures to Lead loop checking, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning support in industrial environments
- Implement quality control, audits, and inspections at engineering service suppliers and manufacturers.
- Support site commissioning activities related to control system integration.
- Follow Meto s operating model and update related processes.
To succeed, you will need :
- Minimum bachelors degree (preferred masters) in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience in instrumentation and automation for international plant engineering and process industries, with a good understanding of electrification and instrumentation.
- At least 3 years of experience as a lead engineer.
- Strong understanding of Control System topics, especially Siemens PCS-7.
- Project management skills (PMP/PMBOK) and deep business and industry understanding.
- Experience with CAE tools like COMOS, Sitebase, Smart Plant, or PDMS.
- Knowledge in programming SCADA/PLC and DCS systems.
- Experience with document management systems like Blue Cielo MERIDIAN.
- Knowledge of international standards and regulations.
- Practice in QEHS procedures and assessments.
- Proficiency in MS Office, VISIO, AUTOCAD, and related software.
- Fluent in English; German is an asset.
- Basic leadership skills and ability to work in a matrix environment.
- Willingness for short business trips.
