We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Assistant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will assist the Accounting Manager in managing daily bank and cash operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial transactions and reconciliations. The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of the accounting function.
**Bank and Cash Management**:
- Assist with daily bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Help manage cash balances, monitor cash flow, and assist with cash disbursements.
- Process daily cash receipts and payments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate record of all bank accounts, including tracking deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.
- **Transaction Recording**:
- Assist in posting daily transactions to the accounting system (e.g., payments, deposits, bank charges).
- Prepare and verify cash and bank-related journals, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- **Reconciliation and Reporting**:
- Support month-end and year-end bank reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing weekly or monthly cash flow reports, highlighting key variances.
- Reconcile petty cash accounts and manage petty cash expenses.
- **Documentation & Filing**:
- Ensure that all financial documentation related to bank and cash transactions is accurately filed and readily accessible for audits and reporting purposes.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing bank statements, cash receipts, payment vouchers, and other relevant documents.
- **Compliance and Internal Controls**:
- Adhere to company policies and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in auditing activities related to bank and cash operations.
- **Communication & Collaboration**:
- Liaise with internal teams, including other departments, to ensure smooth and accurate processing of transactions.
- Communicate with external parties such as banks or vendors as required for account management and transaction verification.
- **General Administrative Support**:
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as required.
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting tasks or projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
