Sr Executive/Asst Manager Warehouse

The Warehouse Asst Manager/Sr Executive is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves managing inventory, ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently and safely, and supervising warehouse staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage a team, and experience in warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management:
• Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods within the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile physical stock with system records.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure that reordering is done in a timely manner to avoid stockouts.
• Implement inventory control measures to reduce shrinkage, damage, and obsolescence.
• Warehouse Operations:
• Ensure that the warehouse is organized, clean, and operating efficiently.
• Supervise the loading and unloading of goods and ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
• Optimize the layout of the warehouse to ensure efficient space utilization and easy access to goods.
• Coordinate the dispatch of goods to customers or other departments, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
• Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and train warehouse staff, including warehouse assistants, pickers, and packers.
• Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to warehouse staff.
• Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and procedures.
• Health and Safety:
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards or violations.
• Implement safety training programs for warehouse staff.
• Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is used properly by all staff members.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, stock movements, and order fulfillment rates.
• Maintain accurate records of all warehouse transactions, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
• Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for improvement in warehouse operations and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in warehouse management.
• Work closely with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to optimize the supply chain.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse management or a related role.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects as necessary.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or moving within the warehouse.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, noisy).
