Job Title: Senior Manager - Bespoke Engineering

Introduction to role
We are seeking a seasoned and innovative Senior Manager - Bespoke Engineering to lead our bespoke engineering team within the Enterprise IT organization. This role demands a highly skilled professional with deep technical expertise in Python, SQL, AI/ML technologies, Mulesoft, SnapLogic, .Net, and MS Power Platforms. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering custom engineering solutions to address sophisticated business challenges, while fostering a culture of innovation, partnership, and technical excellence. The ideal candidate will have a consistent track record of leading diverse engineering teams, delivering scalable and robust solutions, and driving the adoption of modern technologies and standard processes.
Accountabilities
Technical Leadership
  • Lead the design and development of tailored engineering solutions, using technologies like Python, SQL, AI/ML, Mulesoft, SnapLogic, .Net, and MS Power Platforms.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality coding standards, efficient development processes, and consistency to standard methodologies.
  • Drive the adoption of modern development frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and integration platforms to accelerate solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects to design scalable, secure, and resilient software architectures.
Team and Project Management
  • Manage and mentor a team of highly skilled developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality.
  • Supervise the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Prioritize and allocate resources optimally to ensure timely delivery of multiple parallel projects while maintaining quality.
  • Partner with collaborators across IT and business units to align engineering solutions with interpersonal goals.
Innovation and Strategy
  • Drive the development and implementation of AI/ML models to solve business problems and unlock new opportunities.
  • Nurture the integration of enterprise systems using Mulesoft and SnapLogic to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.
  • Explore and promote the use of MS Power Platforms to enable rapid development of low-code/no-code applications for business users.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends, seeing opportunities to enhance custom engineering capabilities.
Governance and Compliance
  • Establish and make sure development standards, security protocols, and compliance requirements across custom engineering projects.
  • Conduct regular code reviews, performance evaluations, and audits to ensure the integrity and reliability of delivered solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT governance teams to ensure alignment to interpersonal policies and standards.
Essential Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in Python and SQL for application development, data processing, and analytics.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and their application in solving real-world challenges.
  • Proficiency in Mulesoft and SnapLogic for enterprise integration and API management.
  • Solid experience in .Net Framework/Core for building enterprise-grade applications.
  • Hands-on knowledge of MS Power Platforms (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) for low-code/no-code development and process automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and microservices).
  • proven experience in leading and running multi-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Consistent record to drive innovation and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Critical thinking with the ability to align engineering initiatives to business objectives.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and coaching team members to achieve their full potential.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Certification in AI/ML, Mulesoft, or Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.
  • Experience in enterprise-level integrations and data engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
