Role & responsibilities

  • Carry daily operations in a smooth manner as per the directives of processes set by the Executive Housekeeper.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to effectively deal with guests, other departments and housekeeping staff.
  • Suggest changes and improvements in the current processes to establish high standards.
  • Lead the team members systematically to enhance service performance.
  • Conduct staff performance assessment process based on the parameters decided for each role.
  • Build operational plan along with the Executive Housekeeper on a yearly basis and ensure timely execution.
  • Make use of critical thinking and analytical skills at work.
  • Manage and constantly thrive to enhance guest, student and other stakeholders experience.
  • Create work reports and submit for the review of Executive Housekeeper and the Management so a constant check is followed and any deviations can be highlighted immediately.
  • Solve issues and take decisions at managerial level for operational issues.
  • Support innovation process within own scope of work in university.
  • Assign team members their duties, and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Maintain clear and efficient communication and coordination with Executive Housekeeper, Hospitality team and other departments of the University.
  • Schedule the cleaning of the university classrooms, Labs, seminar halls, offices, washrooms, along with deep cleaning projects and window cleaning as necessary.
  • Manage inventories of cleaning supplies & linen stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Provides support to the Executive Housekeeper in all areas of Housekeeping operation, such as staff training, coaching, counseling and also enforces to the University standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure all meeting room and auditorium is properly set up according to the requests indicated on the meeting room/event function sheets.
  • Ensures guest rooms are properly secured and that proper key control procedures are utilized by the housekeeping staff in coordination with the Security department.
  • Reward employees who use their empowerment to meet or exceed guest expectations. Also to those who have shown exemplary work in any manner going beyond the call of duty
  • Control expenses while maintaining the quality standards.
  • Control attendance on a daily basis and be aware of any shuffles or filling in required depending on the work priority.
  • Maintain high quality of housekeeping standards in:
  • The guest rooms
  • Classrooms and auditoriums
  • lost and found procedures
  • laundry and
  • public area.
  • Ensure quality of linen which is undamaged, clean and hygienic. Consistent delivery and par stock maintenance, keeping in mind the budgetary guidelines will also be the part of the job role.
  • Co-ordinate with vendors i.e. Pest control, laundry services and other outsource services.
  • Review the housekeeping points on the guest, student and other stakeholders feedback forms, take actions on issues highlighted and also provide timely feedback with the team for improvement.

Preferred candidate profile

  • University degree in hotel management is preferred.
  • Any Graduation / Post graduation with prior relevant experience
  • Excellent skills to create and maintain MIS in excel sheets
  • Have strong communication & written skills in English language
  • Strong interpersonal skills & Excellent negotiation skills
  • Pleasing personality & strong grooming standards
