Lead OSI PI Engineer (8-13 yrs)

Job Purpose :

The Lead OSI PI Engineer is responsible for implementing, configuring, and ongoing support of OSIsoft PI systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing SCADA, PLC, OPC, and MES systems.

The role demands a deep understanding of PI Architecture and the ability to independently develop, design, and troubleshoot PI systems.

The Lead OSI PI Engineer will also mentor junior staff, manage smaller projects, and provide critical engineering support to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality projects.

Roles and Responsibilities :

System Implementation and Support :

- Implement, configure, and support OSI PI systems and interfaces, including OPC DA, PItoPI, RDBMS, UFL, EMDVB, and SISBatch.

- Develop and design PI Systems and project documentation without supervision.

- Troubleshoot complex issues related to PI systems and interfaces.

- Provide detailed instructions for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in line with industry standards.

Project Management :

- Lead smaller projects or project teams from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope.

- Collaborate with the Business Development Team to provide resourcing estimates and technical configurations for client quotations.

- Provide regular updates on potential changes or issues in conjunction with the Project Manager (PM).

Client Engagement and Support :

- Work closely with clients to understand, agree, and implement technical requirements in conjunction with the TQS team.

- Provide operational support to the SLA team, ensuring that System Analysts and Software Consultants are well-equipped to perform their roles effectively.

- Coordinate with vendors and contractors during project conception and implementation stages.

Team Leadership and Mentorship :

- Mentor, train, and support System Analysts and Software Consultants.

- Provide feedback and performance evaluations for System Analysts and Software Consultants.

- In the absence of a Regional Manager, take responsibility for conducting performance evaluations.

Quality Assurance :

- Draft validation documents, including installation/operational qualification and design specifications, across multiple projects.

- Anticipate and address issues related to the quality and timeliness of project deliverables.

- Ensure that PI systems are implemented, configured, and installed correctly at client sites.

Required Skills :

- Extensive experience in the implementation and support of OSIsoft PI Products.

- Strong knowledge of OSI PI Enterprise Server with High Availability (HA), PI AF, PI SMT, PI Collective, PI AF Notifications, and AF Templates.

- Proficient in PI Interfaces, including PI OPC, PI 2PI, PI Perfmon, PI UFL, PI Batch FL, and PI RDBMS.

- Advanced understanding of SQL databases, Oracle installation, query and view structuring, especially about PI systems.

- Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and monitoring PI systems and interfaces

- Expertise in PI Server security settings and DCOM security settings.

- Proficiency in custom development using PI SDK, PI AF SDK, and PI OLEDB with C#.NET.

- Familiarity with PI Analytical Tools (PI PE, PI ACE, AF Analytics) and PI Client Tools (PI ProcessBook, PI DataLink, PI ActiveView, PI Manual Logger).
