Key responsibilities and deliverables:

• Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members

to understand project requirements and translate engineering designs into

accurate drafts.

• Utilize Autodesk software, such as AutoCAD, to create detailed 2D and

3D technical drawings, schematics, substation plan and section layouts,

SLDs, array layouts, trench layouts and section drawings for solar

energy projects.

• Prepare electrical equipment arrangement layouts for control rooms,

Job Purpose: The position exists in order to support for design and engineering functions across the engineering team to

develop the drawings and SLDs and Autodesk software tool support which includes the following:

• Create detailed and accurate technical drawings, schematics, diagrams, and layouts using Computer-Aided Design

(CAD) software. These drawings will include electrical wiring, circuitry, equipment placement, and other relevant

details.

• Utilize Autodesk software, such as AutoCAD, to create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, layouts,

and plans for solar energy projects.

• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. These

drawings should accurately represent the specifications, dimensions, and components of electrical systems.

Education: A high school, ITI, diploma, or equivalent in electrical engineering; an associate degree or

certification in Electrical Drafting, CAD, ETAP, Autodesk, or a related field would be beneficial.

• Convert preliminary system designs and conceptual sketches into

comprehensive and detailed drawings, incorporating specifications,

dimensions, and materials.

• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. These drawings should

accurately represent the specifications, dimensions, and components of

electrical systems.

• Maintain a well-organized repository of drawings and documentation

related to each project, making it easily accessible for team members and

future reference.

• Prepare BOQs of electrical systems.

leveraging them to enhance drafting efficiency and quality.

Management Functions • Meeting with engineering consultants and EPCs

Interfacing and collaborating

• Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to

understand project requirements and translate them into visual

representations. Communicate effectively to ensure that the drawings

meet design intent.

5. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Educational Qualifications:

• Proficiency in using CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar software for creating electrical drawings and

quantity estimates.

• Exposure to other electrical software like Dialux, Google Sketchup, Google Earth is advantageous.

• Experience: Previous experience as an Electrical draftsman or in a similar drafting role is preferred. Familiarity

with electrical systems, terminology, and symbols is essential.

• Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, understand project

requirements, and convey information clearly.

• Code Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies in drawings.

• Time Management: Efficiently manage workload and meet project deadlines.

• Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new software tools and technologies in the field of drafting.

Functional Skills:

Relevant and total years of Experience:

Overall experience: 4 + Years of experience in CAD drafting and exposure to ETAP software is preferred.

• Experience in the renewable (solar/wind) or transmission and distribution industry.

• Hands on experience working for delivering electrical engineering drawings for 220 and 400kV voltage level substations and 50MW solar power plant.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as electrical draftsman involved for preparation of SLDs, BOQs and electrical circuit drawings.

• Consultancy background in a similar field is preferred.
