Job Description

Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager (Civil Engineer) with an MBA or M.Tech to assist in managing construction projects efficiently. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in civil engineering, project management expertise, and leadership skills to ensure timely project execution while maintaining quality and cost control.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Planning & Execution

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, work breakdown structures and executing construction projects.
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans.

Cost & Resource Management

  • Assist in budget preparation, cost estimation, and financial tracking.
  • Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently.
  • Assist in cost estimation and budget tracking to optimize expenses.
  • Monitor material procurement and inventory planning.
  • Optimise resource allocation and ensure minimal wastage.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project progress, identify delays, and propose corrective actions.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk analysis and recommend mitigation strategies.

Coordination & Compliance

  • Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and government norms.
  • Assist in contract management and documentation.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts and technical challenges.
  • Communicate project updates to clients, management, and teams.

Quantity Estimation & BOQ Preparation

  • Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on project drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and material estimation for projects.
  • Analyze and compare contractor and supplier quotations.

Billing & Payment Processing

  • Prepare and verify RA (Running Account) bills, subcontractor bills, and client invoices.
  • Ensure timely submission of invoices and follow-up on payments.
  • Cross-check actual site work with billed quantities to prevent discrepancies.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare progress reports, presentations, and documentation for project updates.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain all billing records, contracts, and cost reports for audit purposes.
  • Generate progress reports, cash flow statements, and reconciliation reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: B.Tech in Civil Engineering + MBA (Project Management) or M.Tech (Civil).
Experience: 0-5 years in construction, infrastructure, or project management.
Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera (preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams efficiently.
