Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Infrastructure Specialist – System Administration to manage and enhance our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring seamless operations, security, and performance of our systems and networks. This role requires strong expertise in server deployments, network management, system updates, firewall configurations, and security monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Server Management:

• Deployment, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).
• Monitor server performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Manage backups and disaster recovery planning and execution.

Network Management:

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi).
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues.
• Manage network devices such as routers, switches, and related equipment.

System Maintenance and Updates:

• Ensure systems are updated with software patches and system batch updates.
• Automate patch management processes to minimize downtime.
• Provide hardware and software support.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

Firewall and Security Management:

• Configure and maintain firewalls to safeguard the network.
• Implement and manage VPNs for secure remote access.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security standards.

Security Monitoring:

• Continuously monitor systems and networks for security threats.
• Implement tools for intrusion detection and prevention.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and mitigate risks.

Storage and Backup Management:

• Implement and manage storage solutions (NAS, SAN, cloud-based storage).
• Enforce policies for efficient data storage and retention.
• Manage backup systems and ensure robust data recovery processes.

Automation and Scripting:

• Develop scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks.
• Utilize tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for configuration and maintenance.

Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with other IT team members to ensure smooth IT operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
• Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

Project Management:

• Participate in IT infrastructure project planning and implementation.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Ensure timely completion of infrastructure upgrades and migrations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in server management, networking, and IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, and firewalls).
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto).
• Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
• Experience with automated patch management tools and techniques.
• Hands-on experience in security monitoring and incident response.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Certification in relevant areas such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, or equivalent (preferred).
