About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Head to lead the financial operations of our brokerage firm.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial management, a strong understanding of the stock brokerage industry, and proven leadership capabilities.
This role is integral to driving the financial health and regulatory compliance of the organization while providing strategic insights for business growth.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards specific to the brokerage industry.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Spearhead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing comprehensive financial insights to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Stay updated on industry-specific financial regulations and ensure the organization operates in full compliance with statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial guidance and align financial goals with the company's strategic objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance and accounts team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Conduct financial risk assessments, identify opportunities for cost optimization, and recommend actionable strategies to enhance profitability.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders during financial audits, inspections, and reporting processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years in accounting or finance roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity within a stock brokerage or financial services firm.
- Extensive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proven track record of managing financial operations in compliance with industry-specific regulations.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations relevant to the brokerage industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent team management and mentoring abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data to drive informed decision-making
