Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

1) Responsible for vendor development, negotiation & issuing purchase orders for Raw material, Store Consumables, Job work, Outsourcing of forgings.

2) IMS (inventory management system) - Planning & maintaining raw material inventory based on lean manufacturing methods based on inter departmental coordination.

3) Responsible for close coordination with vendors for raw material supply to obtain timely delivery and good quality standards & company SOP's. Vendors would include domestic & internation steel manufactureres as well as traders.

4) Coordination with production & planning teams to ensure availability of raw material for manufacturing process.

5) Updating knowledge of Steel Market & procurement for forging grade steel for die forging (Carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, special duplex super duplex steels & other steel grades)

Skills

1) B.E. /B.tech(Mechanical) preferably.

2) Good working knowledge of computers & excel/Google sheets.

3) Strong negotiation, follow up skills, communication (written & verbal).

4) Vendor Management.

5) Knowledge of steel price market trends in International & Domestic Market.

6) Having good knowledge of Inventory management in Raw material, Store Consumable goods with tools like FIFO, LIFO, JIT, 5S, Kaizen.
