Site Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Site Engineer to join our construction team. The Site Engineer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring that the construction work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with technical specifications and project plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Role & responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Oversee and supervise day-to-day activities on the construction site, ensuring that work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Quality Control: Monitor construction activities to ensure that work is performed to the highest quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and testing of materials and workmanship.
• Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, labor teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that resources are available as needed and that work progresses as scheduled.
• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance to the construction team, addressing any on-site issues or technical challenges that may arise. Ensure that construction methods and techniques adhere to industry standards and project requirements.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular site safety audits and promote a culture of safety among workers.
• Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of construction work against the project schedule. Report any delays or issues to the Project Manager and assist in implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, work logs, material delivery receipts, and safety inspections. Ensure that all site documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly, including technical problems, resource shortages, or logistical challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to the project.
• Resource Management: Monitor and manage resources on-site, including labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring they are used effectively and efficiently.
• Proficient in establishing contacts, onboarding new tasks, and managing skilled labour resources to ensure efficient work execution

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in a construction or site engineering role, with hands-on experience in supervising construction activities and site operations.

Skills

• Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in using construction management software and engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Certifications: Health & Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or equivalent) are a plus.
