Job Description

Purpose of the Job

All Projects : Supervises and validates Sub-System selection

Project he is in charge of : Manages project development deliverables with supplier and customer (TSE-TDE-TCE)

Product development : Adds products to the catalogue (development with suppliers)

Organisation Reporting

Hierarchical Reporting: (Site) Electrical / Mechanical Domain Leader (MDL)/EDU Manager

Functional Reporting: Train Design Engineer/ Train Architecture Manager

Responsibilities

Accountable for :

100% of technical requirements covered and taken into account in the design

Respect of DFQ mile stones and on time delivery

Ensures that Catalogue product and catalogue process is fully applied in project with appropriate tools (Connector, costing tool)

Prepares DR with suppliers (Sub-System/product level) or with TxE (train/product integration level)

Ensures the quality of the deliverables (TSS Suppliers)

Manages the technical Sub-System issue tracking and providing mitigation plan

Ensures that standard key design rules are applied with Platform and Sourcing colleagues

Ensures that the Mtiers tools are well applied (Connector, costing tool, DRCL)

Supports the sites if requested on critical technical issues

Reports the progress of the project (meetings, weekly/regular report)

Is in charge to follow work-package and budget

Ensure coordination between TSS/PU/Mtier on interfaces, performances, technical issues resolution during detailed design phase

Participate in technical meetings with customer in order to provide support

Responsible for :

Defines the relevant product with gap analysis on the Connector

Preparation and support on technical assessment for Business Award

Issues the technical description of the solution proposed to the Customer

Applying Train Design rules, processes and tools (single-domain) and ensuring Domain deliverables quality

Writes Sub-System specification and architecture description (RSAD2) in line with train level architecture

Writes the Technical Purchasing Specification for supplier consultation and design freeze

Confirms the product selection based on gap analysis inline with catalogue or reference product

Drives technical development of the product until serial production in close relationship with suppliers if it is a catalogue product

Contributor for :

Perform quotation of engineering work-package, upon request

Defining Project Decomposition (PBS)

Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up

Propose yearly Sustaining Plan for the said Product or Architecture (Second Source, Management of Obsolescence, Redesign to Cost, New development)

Ensures the catalogue up to date about technical performance and quality performance

Collects and formalizes return of experience on solution

Collaborating with MDL for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE)

Performance Measurement/KPIs

Closure of open points or escalation: 10 days maximum compliance to Engineering WorkPackage (variation orders excluded): 100%

Quality of his delivery (included sub-contractor delivery): 1st time quality rate > 90% (quality rate = modification validated OK /number of applied modification)

Respect of the delivery planning (included sub-contractor delivery) = 100% on time delivery

Application level of standard PPL = 100%

Configuration management of his deliverables = 100% of deliverables properly managed into configuration database

Respect of Cost allocation in line project budget

Knowledge Experience Master / Bachelor degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering with 4 to 8 yearsexperience in Lighting hardware design and development and preferably 1 to 2 years in railway products

Familiarity with Train system knowledge and Hands-on experience in design development of Interior and Exterior lighting for Railways/Automotive/Aerospace domain

Able to work in a team and share easily work result

Good Communications and interpersonal skills

Customer Focus / Management skills

Structured and organised with Hand-on approach
