French Firm Alstom To Supply Components Worth Rs 1,285 Crore For Vande Bharat Trains
- French company Alstom has been awarded a contract worth Rs 1,285 crore for supplying components for Vande Bharat sleeper trainsets.
- The contract includes supplying Mitrac traction components and other electrical equipment, as well as maintenance and support services.
- The equipment will be installed in 24-car sleeper trainsets designed to run at a maximum speed of 180 km per hour.
- The systems will be supplied to Indian Railways' Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.

KLIA Aerotrain delayed, Jan 31 start date not possible
- The aerotrain service at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has been delayed from its previously expected operational date of January 31, 2025.
- Transport minister Anthony Loke stated that the contractors have yet to provide a definite operational date for the aerotrain.
- Loke mentioned that the decision on the aerotrain was made by Malaysia Airport Holdings (MAHB) and they should be accountable.
- The aerotrain, which is undergoing testing, is a joint effort between Alstom and the China Railway Construction Corporation (CCRC).
