Purpose of the role:
The Head of Compensation & Benefits and Employee Life Cycle is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
This role ensures that the company attracts, retains, and motivates employees through effective reward structures, benefits and policies while maintaining compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
Additionally, the role integrates Learning & Development initiatives to enhance employee performance and growth.
Detailed Responsibility:
Compensation & Benefits:
- Develop and implement compensation strategies, salary structures, and incentive programs aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in salary disbursement.
- Benchmark compensation and benefits against industry standards to maintain competitive positioning.
- Design, review, and manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements in all compensation and benefits practices.
- Develop and oversee executive compensation strategies, including ESOPs, performance-linked pay, and bonus structures.
Payroll Management:
- Supervise end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement.
- Work closely with Finance and HR teams to streamline payroll operations and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, social security regulations, and statutory deductions.
- Implement payroll automation and process improvements for efficiency.
Learning & Development (L&D):
- Integrate L&D initiatives into the overall HR strategy to support employee growth and organizational objectives.
- Design and implement learning programs, leadership development, and career progression frameworks.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and create targeted training programs.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, adjusting programs as needed to meet business needs.
HR Compliance, Audits & Analytics:
- Develop and maintain compensation-related analytics, reports, and dashboards for decision-making.
- Monitor compliance with labor laws, compensation regulations, and internal policies.
- Drive HR data analysis to optimize compensation strategies and workforce planning.
- Coordinate with Statutory auditors for quarterly and annual audits.
Policy Drafting & Implementation:
- Formulate employee life cycle policies covering recruitment, onboarding, career progression, promotions, transfers, and exits.
- Regularly review and modify policies based on market trends, business needs, and employee feedback.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure policy communication and adoption across all levels of the organization.
Standard Operation Procedure - Updating and Digitization:
- Define SOPs for employee life cycle processes, including onboarding, performance management, promotions, transfers, and exit formalities.
- Ensure digitization and automation of SOPs wherever possible to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
Experience:
- 12 - 15 Years of experience in Total Rewards, Payroll management, Compensation and Benefits.
- Strong Analytical and presentation skills are a must.
- Experience in an Alco Bev / FMCG industry is preferable.
