Lead-Application Operations

You will

Creating databases and tables as per the requirement from Application developers.
Modifying the database structure according to company standards, as necessary, from information given by
application developers.
Manage Backup, Security, and Controls of databases
Enrolling users and maintaining system security.
Controlling and monitoring user access to the database.
Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database.
Responsible for support of DB2 databases as per company procedures and policy.
Be engaged with application vendor support till problem resolution
Restore DB and application server whenever required
Manage Storage & IO performance issues related to databases
Designing of logical and physical structure of database (storage parameters)
Database tuning and manage Production & Development Environment
Responsible to plan, document and implement new data base management system software and release
upgrades after approval from company.
Monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of data base systems operation and recommend and lead
implementation of performance improvements for data base systems and user applications
Experience on table partition and table compression.
Experience on event monitor and snapshot monitor to regularly check the health of database.
Experience on Perl and shell scripting.
Implement and maintain all procedures for backup and recovery of data base management systems, including
audit logs of all data base activity.
Experience in PL1/Cobol programming will be an added advantage
Need to support ABSI project and actively participate in the migration phase to the Allianz Deutschland project,
and support as a full-time role on the ABSd project post-migration.
Willing/Ready to Upskill and work in DB2 pureScale technology

Your skills

University Graduate degree (mandatory)
DB2 UDB DBA with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Experience in relational database management systems with DB2 Data Server on Linux and UNIX.
Running db2 utilities like Reorg, Runstats, rebind, export, import, load, backup, restore and recover database
utilities.
Experience in Database backup and recovery.
