THE ROLE
This role is responsible for executing incoming material quality control, ensuring all process and product parameter optimization strategies and actions plans to meet the business objectives together with Regional functional leaders (i.e. Innovation, Operations, Finance, HR, IT and Supply Chain) to achieve overall organizations objectives. In addition to this role would have to liaise with Multi-discipline team including support functions, to delight our Internal Stakeholders
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the role are to implement the required action plan, manage Quality Control of daily production output activities and support the team to achieve the customer demand as per production plan. The role shall carry out tactical activities and support plant performance goals. In addition, it is to support key tasks, including SQDCME, aligned with Regional vision and aspirations.
The assigned territories include Fluid Power businesses in India.
The Employees specific responsibilities will fall into three primary areas:
Collaborate with cross functional team to drive the improvement of S&D (scrap and defect) to meet the company target.
Ensure that the COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) is well controlled and in line with the company target.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
Coordinate and comply with Global Key QA initiatives and system tools. (eQIM, LPA, AQL, CMP)
Compliance with company ISO9001 requirements to follow company procedure, working instruction and other registered documents in management systems, Compliance and implementation with applicable company HSE policy, law & regulations, ISO14001 and HSAS18001 management system.
Lead customer complaint investigation and work with team to come up with proactive action plans, drive quality contentious improvement activities.
Liaise with customers to ensure that improvements are communicated to the customers though 8D Reports or customers form when required.
To be the customer representative to monitor GIPL performance in terms of quality.
Work closely with cross functional team through APQP approach in order to implement new products or processes. Ensure all the related responsibilities are completed on time in line with customer / program schedule.
Accountability #2: Process / Performance
Establish & maintain working instruction, SOS, CP, Inspection standards etc and other registered documents in management systems.
Responsible for ensuring quality assurance standards and procedures including testing and maintenance methods, procedures, data collection and traceability.
Ensure operations are carried out by following the defined standards. Safety and adherence to process are prime importance.
Coordinates in plant product & Process auditing functions and maintains records.
Complete Process quality reviews on regular basis including daily, weekly & monthly management reviews.
Ensure customer requirements are updated timely through periodical review of customer portals and requirements.
Plans and schedules work, analyzes problems related to delays, poor quality, rejects and inadequate control.
Analyses and monitors appropriate data which highlight problems, trends and opportunities for improvement in the system. This includes monitoring data for customer returns, scrap and internal problems.
Coordinates product & process changes and introductions into the manufacturing environment.
Coordinate in developing & implementing, provide training in problem solving techniques and other quality tools.
Communication of quality issues - either to groups or to individuals.
Address open issues & coordinate with the teams to close the gap.
Coordinates, complies and follow the company working rules & regulations including ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 requirement, other registered documents in Management system and customer specific requirements.
Coordinate and ensure applicable company HSE policy, law & regulations are met.
Recommends required inspection and test equipment.
Determine the optimum resources in order to meet the quality activities and manage resource efficiency.
Identifies skill gaps/ training needs in the Quality Department personnel and initiates training and development activities. Ensure training are in compliance as per plan
Accountability #3: People
Drive the team member to improve efficiency adapting the Gates Production system.
Use interactive management principles- Escalate to next level when faced with discipline issues with human resources, do not give room for confrontation.
Commitment to promote continuous improvement.
Work with the teams to resolve quality issues (both in house & external) through problem solving approach.
Ensure that the QA team works in line with the company direction and policy.
Build up the working environment in the QA department. Encourage professional development to leverage team performance Avoid any political issue in the department.
Cross training employees to maximize flexibility as per cross training plan.
Ensure employees follow & act as per the companys policy as defined in the employee manual.
Conflicts should be brought to the next leaders attention/HR department & would not involve in instigation & enquiry. This will be done by the HR & immediate leadership team.
Ensure the LCR -Life critical rules are clearly communicated & adhered to in all operations at any time.
Ensure the new join people are trained for the duration defined in the new recruit training program.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent operates as a People Manager & reports to Plant Manager and supports him to achieve the business objectives of the company.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED SKILLS :

Requires a bachelor education in Engineering or Diploma
Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in quality assurance, quality control, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing industry .

Good problem-solving skills
Understanding of manufacturing processes, HSE standards & Quality standards.
