Business Head - Sugar & Distillery

Summary
The Business Head - Sugar & Distillery role involves end-to-end business responsibility (Planning & Strategic responsibility, P &L) for the department of Sugar Enzymes and Distillery Enzymes. The key responsibilities include business leadership, customer & sales leadership, people leadership, strategic leadership and influencing the company culture. The role will be a part of the company's leadership team and will report directly into the MD. The role offers an opportunity for rapid growth and will play a key role in the company' s growth plans over the next three years.

Key Responsibility Area (KRA)

1. Department Business Ownership (P&L)

• End to End planning execution. Providing additional inputs for planning.
• Ownership to prepare department business plan for the year and keep the same up to date.
• Provide business updates & reports on the department to the MD and leadership team on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

2.Customer & Sales Leadership:

• Revenue growth from existing accounts
• New logo acquisitions for the department
• Sales of strategic products
• Ensure that customer service, customer engagement and customer experience is at highest levels.
• Plan & execute marketing, lead generation and business development activities to maintain healthy pipeline
• Regular meeting with the top 5 customers

3.People Leadership:

• Keep the department team inspired, motivated and happy with their work
• Identify, mentor and groom top talent in the department
• Work closely with HR Head for employee engagement activities
• Direct involvement in hiring of staff for the department (working closely with HR head)

4.Strategic Leadership:

• Stay up to date with industry and market trends relevant to the department
• Prepare department level growth strategy and present to MD & leadership team
• Execute on the department strategy
• Contributions and active involvement in company strategy
• Conduct learning/training sessions with regards to industry updates and sales module
• Prepare strategies with regard to team growth

5.Organization Culture:

• Influence a culture of transparency, hard work, innovation, and continuous learning across all the employees in the department

Mandatory Skills:

1. Leadership:

• Ability to lead a team with extremely strong people management skills

2. Subject Matter Expertise:

• End-to-end solution expertise for the Sugar and Distillery process
• In-depth knowledge on enzyme technology and applicability in Sugar and Alcohol plants
• Strong knowledge of benefits of enzyme technology e.g., significantly increased efficiency in sugar & distillery factory output along with higher quality output

3. Business management expertise:

• Outstanding sales abilities as well as customer relationship management and project execution skills.

4. Communication:

• Extremely strong verbal, written and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to connect and engage with customers, partners and team members on a range of topics
• Ability to clearly communicate company products and benefits to senior management of the customer and engage then to win new business, and / or expand existing business

5. In-depth knowledge of company products (after training)
