Job Title: Lead DevOps & Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Hyderabad (On Site)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced DevOps professional with over 14 years in the field to drive our infrastructure innovation and establish a robust Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. In this dual-role, you will spearhead the design, implementation, and management of secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure solutions while ensuring high application reliability and performance. Your deep expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC), container orchestration, operating systems, and application security will be critical to our continuous delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecture Design & Implementation:
  
• Lead the design and rollout of scalable, secure infrastructure solutions tailored for our suite of DevOps tools.
• Focus on backend systems, automation initiatives, and seamless integration to meet both operational and business requirements.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  
• Architect and deploy automated infrastructure using tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and other IaC technologies to manage environments across cloud and on-premises setups.

• Backend Infrastructure Management:
  
• Oversee the deployment, scaling, and ongoing management of backend systemsincluding servers, storage, networking, and databasesto support a highly available, fault-tolerant DevOps pipeline.

• Operating Systems & Performance Optimization:
  
• Leverage comprehensive expertise in Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu), Windows Server, and other operating systems to design, optimize, and troubleshoot infrastructure components.
• Execute performance tuning and effectively manage system resources at the OS level.

• Automation & CI/CD:
  
• Champion automation across the toolchain, ensuring efficient continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent.

• Tool Integration & Optimization:
  
• Integrate and optimize various DevOps tools—including SonarQube, JFrog Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift—to ensure seamless code delivery and infrastructure management.
• Maintain high availability and minimal latency across all integrations.

• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):
  
• Establish and lead the SRE team, developing frameworks for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Define and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets to proactively manage system reliability.
• Implement robust incident management, capacity planning, and post-mortem analysis processes to continuously improve system resilience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of reliability and continuous improvement.

• Application Security & Compliance:
  
• Oversee application security measures, including the implementation and management of Web Application Firewalls (WAF), secure port configurations, and vulnerability assessments.
• Integrate security best practices into the DevOps lifecycle—covering patch management, identity and access management (IAM), and adherence to industry security standards.
• Partner with security teams to proactively identify and mitigate potential threats.

• Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
  
• Design and deploy comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Rapidly identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues across complex environments.

• Collaboration & Mentorship:
  
• Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure that infrastructure strategies align with evolving business needs.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and best practices in both DevOps and SRE disciplines.

Qualifications & Technical Expertise:

• Experience:
  
• 14+ years in DevOps or related fields, with a proven track record in designing and managing complex, scalable infrastructure systems.

• Infrastructure & IaC Tools:
  
• Advanced proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and other infrastructure-as-code solutions.
• Extensive experience managing both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructures.

• CI/CD & Automation:
  
• Hands-on expertise in architecting and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong scripting abilities (Bash, PowerShell, Python) to integrate cloud, infrastructure, application, and database layers.

• Containerization & Orchestration:
  
• Deep knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift) for managing distributed systems.

• Operating Systems & Performance Tuning:
  
• In-depth proficiency with Linux, Windows Server, and other operating systems—including system administration, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience managing system-level performance, optimizing memory, CPU, and disk usage.

• Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
  
• Expertise in deploying and managing monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Sentry, New Relic) to achieve real-time visibility across environments.

• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):
  
• Demonstrated experience in establishing or working within an SRE framework, including setting SLOs/SLIs, incident management, and continuous improvement processes.

• Application Security:
  
• Proven track record in implementing application security measures, including WAF management, secure port configurations, and regular vulnerability assessments.
• Experience integrating security best practices into automated deployment and monitoring processes.

• Additional Requirements:
  
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and practices.
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, change, problem, and service request management.
