Job Description: Business Development Head (Software Services)
Position Overview:
- The Business Development Professional for Software Services will play a key role in driving the growth of the company's software services offerings by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and managing the entire sales cycle.
- This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong understanding of the software industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to generate new leads, close deals, and maintain long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation and Market Research:
- Identify potential clients and market segments for software services.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and opportunities in the software industry.
- Generate leads through various channels such as networking, social media, cold calling, and attending industry events.
Client Acquisition:
- Approach new clients and pitch software solutions that align with their business needs.
- Understand client requirements and propose tailored solutions for their software needs.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with clients to secure new business.
Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Follow up with clients after sales to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling additional services.
- Serve as the point of contact for client inquiries and concerns during and after project delivery.
Sales and Proposal Management:
- Create compelling proposals and presentations that outline the benefits and features of the company's software services.
- Work closely with the sales team, product managers, and technical teams to develop accurate pricing and project timelines.
- Close deals and meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies that align with the business development goals.
- Report on sales activities, forecasts, and pipeline status to management on a regular basis.
- Keep track of sales performance, analyze success rates, and adjust strategies as necessary.
Knowledge of Software Services:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the software services industry.
- Understand the technical aspects of the company's software products and be able to communicate these effectively to clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in the software or technology industry.
- Should have won new logos (US clients) for the company.
- Strong understanding of the software services market, including web development, mobile applications, software-as-a-service (SaaS), and IT consulting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting client relationships.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in using CRM software, MS Office, and other sales tools.
- Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Over 14+ years of experience working in the software development or IT services industry.
- Understanding of software development methodologies and processes.
