Hiring For Internal Audit Professionals

Role & Responsibilities:
As part of the Finance & Administration departments Internal Audit team, the Internal Audit Professional will contribute to the execution of an annual risk-based audit plan, ensuring the organization's operational, financial, and compliance audits meet the highest standards. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution and provides opportunities to influence internal control practices and risk management strategies across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and managing audits while adhering to established methodologies and standards.
• Leading and mentoring audit staff, ensuring high-quality audit execution and adherence to audit methodologies.
• Performing operational, financial, and compliance audits across Conferences, Geographic Units, and other organizational functions.
• Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and ensuring timely completion of assigned audits.
• Educating volunteers and staff on control best practices, applying industry and regulatory knowledge to improve compliance.
• Drafting well-supported, high-quality audit findings and presenting issues and associated risks clearly to senior management.
• Maintaining integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct, ensuring compliance with generally accepted auditing standards.
• Analyzing annual risk assessment results to prioritize audit activities and support audit planning.
• Preparing updates for the audit committee and creating management dashboards.
• Acting as a liaison between management and the audit team to facilitate discussions on findings and remediation strategies.
• Supporting conflict-of-interest reporting and contributing to various operational audits.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 8–12 years of auditing experience for senior candidates, with team handling experience.
• 3–6 years of auditing or related experience for junior candidates, preferably in a risk-based audit environment.
• Skills & Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, risk management practices, industry policies, procedures, regulations, and relevant laws.
• Proficiency in analytical tools and techniques to support audits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings and risks clearly.
• Ability to manage and mentor teams while maintaining high ethical standards.
