Senior Engineer - Process Engineering

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose:

Lead and drive the development, improvement, and optimization (pre-mass production) of machining processes for the production of automotive components. Ensure that machining operations are efficient, cost-effective, and capable of producing high-quality parts as per drawing requirements.

Principal Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. Process Validation and Enhancement

• Carry out the validation of machining processes.
• Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Continuous Testing (CT).
• Facilitate initial trials at supplier locations to validate processes.

1. IPT and IPT Point Closure

• Ensure the closure of Identified Process Troubles (IPT) and relevant points.
• Keep Tool Gauge Worksheet (TGW) and Tool Gauge Reconciliation (TGR) updated.
• Manage the closure of Optimized Process Troubles (OPT) and High-Volume Production Troubles (HVPT) points.

1. Process Ownership: 

• Lead and enhance machining processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze drawings and specifications, determine the feasibility of manufacturing and identify the required facilities.
• Manage machining tools and equipment, Expertise in VMC (Vertical Machining Center), CNC Programing and Fixture, tool concept designing, Fixture, Tool verify as per approved DAP, Knowledge of SPM Machine, Trials & Execution
• Identify and address potential risks in machining processes.
• Identify and address machining issues and collaborate on solutions.

1. Quality Improvement

• Foster a culture of process enhancement
• Improve productivity by optimizing process cycle times and identify critical characteristics within the processes. 
• Ensure product quality and implement quality control measures.
• Implement advanced machining technologies to achieve precision and consistency.
• Identify and implement innovative machining solutions.
• Plan and integrate automation to improve efficiency.

1. System Knowledge 

• Maintain accurate process records, knowledge of work instruction, standardize work chart, PPAP documents. POKAYOKE, TGW,TGR
• Use data for process improvement decisions, expertise in process capability Cp/Cpk & Pp/Ppk, Process Validation
• Basic knowledge KANBAN,TPM , Auto Cad ,SAP ,  MS Office, Excel & Power point
