Job Description


The Program Manager for AVCF is an integral member of the start-up team that will work closely with the senior management in ensuring the successful delivery and execution of projects. She/he must be able to implement and assist with execution of significant strategic, operational, and cultural agendas required for setting up the operations of AVCF, including ideation to successful execution, managing important relationships and stakeholders for the benefit of the organization, simplifying tasks and anticipating work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Management:
    • Oversee the implementation of key projects and ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Develop and maintain detailed program schedules, including timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
    • Coordinate across teams to ensure alignment of project goals, objectives, and activities.
    • Monitor program performance and take corrective actions as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  2. Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including donors, government agencies, local partners, and beneficiaries.
    • Communicate program goals, progress, and results to internal and external stakeholders regularly.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing any issues, concerns, or feedback promptly.
    • Collaborate with the fundraising and communications teams to engage donors and supporters effectively.
  3. Donor Management:
    • Develop and manage relationships with donors to ensure continued support for the organizations programs.
    • Track and report on donor contributions, funding, and financial performance.
    • Work closely with the fundraising team to create strategies for donor engagement and retention.
  4. Project Monitoring & Evaluation:
    • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact and effectiveness.
    • Provide regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and challenges to senior leadership.
    • Collect and analyze data to ensure programs are meeting objectives and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in program management, ideally within the non profit sector.
    • Proven experience in managing donor relationships and working with multiple stakeholders.
    • Strong experience in project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
    • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, or similar).
  • Education:
    • Masters egree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, International Development, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience working with donor-funded projects and managing compliance with donor requirements.
  • Knowledge of fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
