Summary
Atlassian tool Admin will be in charge of configuring workflows, managing user permissions, and maintaining overall system efficiency. Jira admins also handle integrations with other tools, ensuring that Jira supports the specific needs of the organization. Required Skillset
- Jira and Confluence Architecture and underlying tech stack.
- \Jira and Confluence Admin and System Admin functionalities
- Experience with cloud-based Jira instances.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) for automation .
- Certification in Jira Administration or related fields
- Atlassian Plugin SDK and Plugin architecture
- Hands-on with JQL and CQLs
- Experience in a DevOps environment.
- Certification in software testing or related fields.
- Experience/Trained in power BI/related fields
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts .
Responsibility
- Jira Configuration and Maintenance - create new Jira projects, workflows, issue types, screens, fields and permissions. Customize workflow for different teams or project needs.
- User and Permissions Management Access Management, Managing Users & Groups, Configuring User, managing User Default Settings, Configuring JIRA Security settings, Configuring Issue-level Security, Managing JIRA Project Permissions, Managing JIRA Project Roles, Managing Global Permissions Support ad-hoc requests based on available band width of team members. Define and manage Custom Fields and Issue Types to meet tracking and reporting needs.
- Workflows and Schemes Configuring & managing standard JIRA schemes such as Work Item/Issue Scheme, Field and Screen scheme, standard Workflow Schemes, Standard workflow statuses, notification schemes, priority scheme, Roles & Permission scheme. Create, modify and maintain workflows, workflow schemes and other Jira settings to optimize project management.
- Jira Integration and automation Integrate with other Atlassian products or third-party tools. Implement JIRA automation rules for recurring tasks also maintain scripts for custom automations using Jira Automation or Script Runner. Advance JIRA Configurations Integrating JIRA with Code Development Tools, Plugin installation and configuration, Advanced workflow configuration, JIRA Automation implementation Version upgrades
- User Support and Training Provide support to Jira users, trouble shoot issues and respond to tickets. Conduct user training sessions and workshops.
- Reporting and Analytics Design custom dashboards and reports to monitor project progress. Analyze JIRA data to identify the trends. Managing Configuration & Layout based on Enterprise Scaling operating model (Large Scale, Small scale) Default dashboards, announcement banners.
- System Health and Performance Monitoring Conduct regular system health checks, plan and implement JIRA upgrades or patches as required. Publishing Release notes, Post Upgrade/release issues.
- Data Management and Backup manage backups and maintain retention policies. Manage data migration tasks such as importing or exporting issues, projects and other configurations.
- Collaboration and Process Optimization Work with Project managers, development teams and other stakeholders to understand the JIRA needs and configure the tool to align with their goals. Assess and refine JIRA configuration and workflows to improve productivity.

- Tools Management and Maintenance coordinate with SmartBear and teams in upgrade activities, on demand full indexing/re-indexing and monitor health index of projects, deactivate inactive users during monthly audit, usage monitoring.
- User Support & Administration Manage user accounts & roles permissions
- Project Setup Create new projects, groups, enable JIRA project linkage, customize resources, requirements, test case properties for teams.
- Trouble Shooting & technical support - Investigate and resolve technical issues related to Zephyr, communicate critical issues with SmartBear and follow-up support ticket / patch updates.
- Training and rolling out best practices to users.
