Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and qualified Database Developer to design, develop, and maintain stable and reliable databases according to our company's requirements.

You will be responsible for creating new databases, enhancing existing ones, and ensuring the effective retrieval of data for users.

As part of our IT team, you will collaborate closely with developers to ensure system consistency, assist administrators with technical support, and help identify new requirements.

Responsibilities :

Database Design and Development : Design, develop, and implement stable and reliable databases tailored to meet company needs.

Database Maintenance : Continuously test, optimize, and maintain databases to ensure smooth performance and efficiency.

Collaboration with Development Teams : Work closely with developers to ensure databases are properly integrated with applications and support data retrieval needs.

Troubleshooting and Technical Support : Provide technical support to administrators, troubleshoot database issues, and assist in resolving complex queries.

Database Security : Write secure database code to ensure data privacy and integrity while following best practices for database security.

Optimization and Performance : Continuously optimize database performance through query optimization, indexing, and managing data integrity checks.

Collaboration with Clients : Communicate with clients to gather requirements, understand database needs, and translate them into technical specifications.

Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation for database designs, procedures, and queries.

Data Model Creation : Design and implement physical data models, ensuring they align with business goals.

Data Migration and Transformation : Help in the migration and transformation of data when transitioning to new systems or integrating third-party applications.

Skills and Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

Database Engineering Experience : 2-4 years of experience in database engineering and development, particularly with SQL queries, database scripting, stored procedures, functions, and jobs.

Proficiency in PostgreSQL and PL/SQL : Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, PL/SQL development, and database schema design.

AWS Experience : Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically AWS services for database management, is preferred.

JSON Knowledge : Experience working with JSON data types and PostgreSQL's support for JSON, including the ability to design and work with JSON-based databases.

Database Design and Query Optimization : Strong understanding of database design principles, query optimization techniques, index management, integrity checks, statistics, and isolation levels.

Data Security : Knowledge of best practices for ensuring database security, data privacy, and compliance with data protection regulations.

Version Control : Experience with version control tools such as Git for managing database code.

Soft Skills :

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly resolve database issues and optimize performance.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3-6 years of experience as a Database Developer or in a similar role.

- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (preferably AWS) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with additional relational databases or NoSQL databases.

- Certifications related to database development or AWS (e.g, AWS Certified Database - Specialty).
