Assistant Manager - Quantity Surveyor (MEP)

Job Objective:

Management and verification for claims of MEP work quantities, rate analysis, cost with appropriate documents, estimating quantities for tendering, and managing costs associated with MEP systems in construction projects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Core Quantity Surveying-

Contractor Bill Certification

• Bill Certification: Quantity validation with appropriate document, and rate to be certified with respect to contract.
• Material Bill Certification: Checking of Material testing report as per contractor document and as per IS standard.

• Documentation of Certified bills and Quantity: The central QS team will also keep record site claim data of each RA Bill, amendment, MTC, BRD etc. and maintain it in soft copy hard copy as well.

• Estimation and Costing: Quantity calculation from GFC as per standard IS code, candidate should have virtuous knowledge of IS standard, NBC codes, CPWD etc and all codes for measurements.

• Measurements: Variance Report with reasons attributable to Billing Errors.

• Other Miscellaneous Actions:
• Rate Analysis data base creation,

o Review of all variances and Project closure report,

• Value engineering support

Associated Central quantity surveying Activities-

• Prepare Certified Billing versus Claim bill quantity and get it uploaded in DCC, if applicable

• Prepare amendments revision bullet point for reason behind quantity increment / Rate variation, Extra items, Time Extensions etc.

• Facilitate closure of contractor Bills /Amendment within given time slot and take necessary actions.

• Maintain tracking recodes of contractor work done and authenticate it by site visits.

•Prepare contract document as per stated protocols & standard templates.

• Maintain the Certified Bills and Amendment document for future reference as per defined document management policy.

• Maintain record of the Advance Bank Guarantee/ Contract Performance Bank Guarantee (ABG/ CPBG)/ Customs related documents from vendor as per requirements.

Data Management-

• Prepare contract document as per stated protocols & standard templates.

• Maintain the Certified Bills and Amendment document for future reference as per defined document management policy.

• Assist in collation of data related to quantity surveying activities (e.g. Material Reconciliation, Debit and Recovery, Liquidity damages etc.

• Contribute to cost controlling with efficient panning and cost management data analysis with approved specification.

• Maintain record of the Advance Bank Guarantee/ Contract Performance Bank Guarantee (ABG/ CPBG)/ Customs related documents from techno commercial and from finance team.

Key Interactions:

Internal-

• Work closely with relevant project team to certification of Contractor Bill, Material Bill Releasing retention money etc.

• Interact with BH and HOD to elaborate bill/amendment certification in proper format to get final approval on bill payment.

• Interact with Quality /QS/Project Team for technical query raised for Bill and quantity certification.

External-

• Interact with consultant in collation of tender BOQ standardization, quoted rate, and quantity assurance to strengthen collaboration project deliveries with scheduled timeline.

Job Profile:

Education-

• Full time B.Tech/B.E. degree in Electrical engineering/Mechanical Engineering .

General Experience:

• 7 to 12 years of experience with minimum 6 years relevant experience.

Technical Experience:

• Knowledge of the overall function involved in MEP works with technical specification.
• Involvement in design coordination, DBR analysis, Tendering (BOQ`s, detailed quantity backup, technical specification, tender drawings), shop drawings, design, and project queries.
• Knowledge of all equipped with technical feasibility and risks associated with projects MEP works.
• Knowledge of cost estimation, rate analysis, prepare MB according to IS standard, budgeting, and Cost control - crucial aspects of project MEP works.
• Knowledge of the government and authoritys enforced laws, standard norms and regulation etc.
• Sound understanding of the impact of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing settings within the construction process.

Technical Competencies:

Budget and Estimation and costing/Quantity surveying of MEP services work.

Sound understanding Contract & Compliance.

Sound understanding of involve equipment with detail technical specification.

Systems & Data analytics

Knowledge of SAP, Auto CAD, BIM, MS office, MS Project
