Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist - Construction Chemicals Industry (12-25 yrs)

Position Summary:

- The incumbent would be responsible to manage a team for new product and process development, enabling business ambitions for growth and impact. He / She will be responsible building new business and competencies with strong in fundamental science problem solving acumen to support local and global business. The candidate should be able manage a team size of 12+ researchers portfolio. The candidate will also play a key role in leveraging synergies with the organization's local & global R&D collaborating with teams from other regions across the globe.

- Should have Good understanding of chemicals, materials, solids, structure-property correlations

- Strong knowledge on polymers, organic, functional additives, formulation science are essential skills.

- Very good understanding on various characterization techniques to assess the composite materials from structural to physical to mechanical characterization.

- Proven track record on people management roles and mentoring skills are very essential.

- Lead a team of scientists and engineers to deliver innovative solutions for India and Global.

- Ensure the technical competence of the R&D department; recruit, assess and grow talent.

- Mentoring and guidance to his/her team members for a positive career growth.

- Guide project leaders towards effective project management implementing best practices and models in organization's Surface Solutions.

- Elaborate strategy for a relevant project pipeline and competency development necessary to meet the ambitions of the business. Leverage background in materials/process to accelerate product development and enable industrialization and commercialization.

- Communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators and utilize knowledge to advance projects and identify productive synergies.

- Develop and maintain a robust innovation, in sync with business strategy, to enable both offensive and defensive activities proactively.

- Manage operations of labs, including Safety, opex/capex management, etc. towards building robust competencies to enable product/process development.

Qualification & Experience: Should have a Ph.D. with a minimum of 15 years of experience, preferably in construction chemicals.
