Job Description

Role & responsibilities


Contract Lifecycle Management:

  • Drafting and Negotiation: Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and service providers.

Ensure contracts are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with project requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Contract Administration: Oversee the execution and implementation of contracts throughout their lifecycle. Monitor compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and timelines. Manage contract amendments and modifications as necessary.

Procurement and Supplier Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire goods, services, and equipment required for the project.
  • Evaluate bids and proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and select appropriate suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure contractual obligations are met.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with contracts and procurement activities.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address contractual disputes, delays, or non-performance.

Contract Compliance:

  • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and deadlines.
  • Implement contract modifications and amendments as necessary, while maintaining accurate records of changes.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on contract status, procurement activities, and supplier performance to project stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and contract files for auditing and record-keeping purposes.

Financial Management:

  • Budget Monitoring: Work closely with project management and finance teams to monitor contract expenditures and ensure adherence to budget allocations.
  • Cost Control: Optimize cost-effectiveness in procurement activities while maintaining quality standards and project timelines.

Legal and Compliance Oversight:

  • Legal Support: Collaborate with legal counsel to resolve contractual issues, disputes, and claims. Interpret contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and mitigate legal risks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting contracts and procurement activities. Ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Internal Communication: Coordinate with project management, finance, legal, and technical teams to ensure alignment on contract and procurement strategies.
  • External Communication: Engage with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in contract management, procurement practices, and supplier relationship management.

Learning and Development: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in contract management and procurement.

Contract Lifecycle Management:

  • Redraft contract based on revised scope & services.
  • Communicate contractual communications / Amendments/ terminations & notices to suppliers.
  • Obtain contract closures in all aspects and get NOC from Suppliers/ vendors against contracts.
  • Support Project Management team in negotiation renegotiations & formulate change orders.
  • Guide cost controller for budget reconciliation & contract costing / change orders

Preferred candidate profile

  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role within the energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors, with specific experience in renewable energy projects are highly desirable.
  • Good understanding of Techno commercial activities.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, procurement principles, and contract management best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex contractual issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation (Word, excel, PowerPoint), and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
