Head - Purchase - Mining/Cement/Construction (12-20 yrs)

Key Responsibilities:

- Establish long-term purchase plan to ensure steady supply of necessary material.

- Framing/Revising Purchase Policy/ Manual/COP/SOP/ Member Job Description etc. with evolving time, technology, legislation etc.

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers- at least 3 suppliers in each item.

- Negotiate Contracts, T&C, best pricing with suppliers.

- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.

- Conduct regular performance review and audit of suppliers.

- Oversee daily operations of procurement department.

- Ensure procurement processes are efficient (like ARC, CEP, R&R etc.), cost-effective, and compliant with company policies and regulations.

- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory management team to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.

- Approve purchase orders and requisitions.

- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

- Monitor and report on procurement costs, savings, and performance metrics.

- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.

- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.

- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

- Identify and mitigate procurement risks.

- Implement and monitor adherence to internal controls and procurement policies.

Qualification Requirements:

- Mechanical / Electrical Engineer and 2 years full-time MBA or PGDM in Supply Chain Management.

- At least 10 years of post-qualification experience. Proven experience as Purchase Head or in a similar senior Purchase role in a multi located organisation having turnover of more than Rs. 2,000 Crores.

- Well-versed with International trade laws, customs, GST

- Knowledge in Advance Excel and SAP.

- Experience of mining industry is preferred.
