Dalmia Cement - Zonal Logistics Head - North East Region (15-28 yrs)

Key Role Expectation:

1. Lead the Logistics function for North East Region including both primary and secondary operations.

2. Ensure that all inbound and outbound delivery happens within the set timelines and meets customer expectations.

3. Is responsible for identification of areas of opportunities to achieve process excellence in the regional logistics, in line with the objectives set by the Group Logistics Head.

Key Job Responsibilities :

1. Financial:

A. Work closely with the Group Logistics Head in articulating the overall function strategy for logistics

B. Be responsible for implementing the articulated strategy in the region

C. Draw up an annual business plan aligned to the overall corporate business objectives

D. Responsible for strategic cost optimization initiatives on overall logistics spend for the region

E. Ensure focus on total delivered cost for leveraging price competitiveness capabilities

F. Examine and evaluate alternate viable sources available in the region to ensure lowest cost advantage in transportation of goods

G. Take initiatives to drive growth for DCBL and ensure sustained growth in line with long-term and short-term objectives of the organization

2. Customer:

A. Understand the region completely with the nuances of vendor management and work towards increasing vendor motivation in the region

B. Responsible for implementation of the streamlining and standardizing onboarding process of the vendors, and ensure vendor retention by building long-term relationships

C. Ensure effective improvement in vendor's business practices by understanding the key drivers of their business, and advising them on the same

D. Build relationship with the regional customers - both internal and external, and ensure customer satisfaction to the maximum

3. Operations:

A. Institute norms, process adherence in the function and build a culture of continuous process improvement & optimization

B. Translate business plan objectives into Key result areas (KRA) for the team and the function for that region.

C. Devise and implement distribution strategies (in sourcing or outsourcing, number and location of warehouses, transportation means, distribution schemes) within the region

D. Ensure compliance to procurement policy, quality parameters and cost savings plan

E. Ensure reduction in transit time and further overall process TAT reduction, by opting for use of new and advanced technology

F. Ensure initiatives to automate Transportation Management Systems like lowest cost routing, real-time tracking, etc. to streamline regional logistics systems

G. Maintain working relationship with all stakeholders

H. Ensure initiation and sensitization of the employees towards digitization and automation of the processes

I. Focus on utilization of advanced business analytics tools to derive key insights critical for the success of the organization
