Position Overview:We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Service Group as a Electrical Engineering Discipline Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Electrical Engineering Teams of 10 or more members, within the Service Group which provides engineering services for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors in the Oil & Gas industry. You will oversee the Electrical deliverables timelines on projects. While also interfacing with our home office in Italy, where our clients reside. Your expertise in electrical engineering abilities, and cross-cultural communication skills will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of projects and maintaining strong client relationships. Responsibilities 1.Managing the Electrical discipline Team assigned to one or more projects. 2.Taking the responsibilities of the deliverables assigned to the Electrical Team. 3. Managing the inter discipline approval for Electrical discipline. 4. Provide the comments to other disciplines for deliverables having interconnection with the electrical design (e.g.:plant lay out, structural details, equipment list, site preparation drawings etc.). 5. Collaborating with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, Civil & Structural, and instrumentation, to ensure proper coordination and integration of electrical systems with other project components. 6.Validating the accuracy and completeness of the data as per client data requirement standards. 7.Liaise with the IT team and infrastructure to ensure deliverables are not hampered and collaborate with engineers to develop appropriate solutions to meet client and project requirements. 8. Work with project teams and technical leads to understand business requirements and design specifications. 9.Ensure the compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in electrical engineering. 10 Coordinate and manage the execution of the following activities within the electrical engineering team:11.Performing electrical system studies, such as short-circuit analysis, load flow analysis, motor starting analysis, and protective device coordination studies, to ensure the reliability and safety of the electrical system. 12. Developing electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and equipment layouts, based on project specifications, codes, and standards. 13. Selecting and specifying electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, motors, generators, UPSs etc., based on project requirements and technical specifications. 14. Conducting load calculations to determine the power requirements for various equipment and systems, considering factors such as lighting, HVAC, motors, and process equipment. 15. Designing electrical circuits, SCADA, including power and control circuits, and determining wire sizing, cable routing, and cable tray layouts. 16. Creating single line diagrams that represent the electrical system, showing the major components, their interconnections, and associated protective devices. 17.Run progressive Material Take Offs to estimate the quantities of electrical bulk material and initiate the requisitioning process accordingly. 18. Developing detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams that illustrate the interconnections and control logic of electrical circuits and equipment. 19. Reviewing and approving electrical equipment vendor submittals, including technical data, drawings, and specifications, to ensure compliance with project requirements. 20. Hazardous Area Classification:Conducting hazardous area classification studies to identify and categorize areas with potentially explosive atmospheres and specifying appropriate electrical equipment for such areas. 21. Creating material requisitions for electrical equipment and components, including specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements, to support the procurement process. 22. Evaluating technical bids received from vendors for electrical equipment and providing recommendations for selection based on compliance with specifications, quality, and project requirements. 23. Creating 3D models of electrical systems using specialized software such as Smart Plant 3D, or other 3D modeling tools. This includes modeling electrical equipment, cable trays, conduits, and other components to visualize and coordinate the electrical design with other disciplines. 24. Developing detailed construction documents, including electrical drawings, specifications, and installation details, to guide the construction and installation activities. 25. Preparing as-built drawings and documentation that accurately reflect the final installed electrical systems and equipment, incorporating any changes or modifications made during the construction phase. 26. Maintaining accurate project documentation, including progress reports, design calculation records, technical specifications, and other relevant documentation.
Qualifications and skills: 1.Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or master's degree in electrical engineering. 2. 9 to 12 years of experience in the role, managing complex electrical design works for industrial facilities. Previous experience with EPC contractors and/or in the Oil & Gas industry is preferential. 3. Experience in managing a team of 10 and more people. 4. Experience in hazardous area classification. Indicate electrical areas (transformer pads, switch yards) on plot plan. 5. Experience in electric equipment specification & layout and development of electrical systems for industrial facilities. 6. Knowledge of Electrical Engineering Codes & Standards and industry best practices. 7. Experience in Electrical Design tools like Smart Plant Electrical or similar. 8. Good knowledge of plant 3D modeling software platforms:Smart Plant 3D is a plus. 9. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools. 10. Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with the home office in Italy and build strong client relationships. 11. Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. 12. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
