Job Description:

- Academian, a leading edtech company, is looking for an experienced Director of Instructional Design to join our team on a 6-month contract.

- This role requires a highly skilled professional with mandatory experience in both Higher Education (HE) and K12 sectors, and a strong track record in instructional design, leadership, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Consulting Engagement Execution:.

- Successfully lead consulting engagements by providing expert guidance in instructional design initiatives.

- Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality instructional design solutions aligned with client needs.

- Apply learning theories and instructional design models in training design.

Proposal Development and Research:.

- Conduct in-depth research and analysis to develop instructional design recommendations for proposals.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to craft compelling instructional design solutions tailored to client requirements.

- Lead the development of proof-of-concept (POC) solutions for new projects and clients, ensuring their effectiveness and feasibility.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative learning prototypes.

Course/Product Audits:.

- Conduct comprehensive audits of courses and products, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.

- Ensure that learning materials are aligned with instructional design standards, enhancing the overall impact and quality.

- Design and develop training materials, curriculum, and functional specifications documents (FSD).

Leadership in Learning Experience Design:.

- Lead as the senior designer on key projects, providing high-level input on learning experience design.

- Mentor and guide instructional design teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders to create innovative and effective learning solutions.

- Exhibit interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise in learning design principles and practices.

Recruitment and Team Leadership:.

- Oversee the recruitment process for internal instructional design teams and project-specific staffing.

- Conduct interviews, design skills assessments, and evaluate candidates to ensure the right fit for roles.

- Manage the onboarding process for new team members, integrating them effectively into the organization.

- Develop and manage training programs to continuously develop team members' skills.

Thought Leadership and Content Contribution:.

- Contribute to Academian's thought leadership by writing articles and posts on trends and innovations in instructional design.

- Contribute to the development of Academian's social media strategy and presence.

- Represent the company at key industry events, webinars, and forums.

Mandatory Experience:.

- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in instructional design, with a proven track record in both Higher Education (HE) and K12 environments.
