Job Title: Finance Director - Strategic Finance

About the Role:
As the Finance Director in a strategic finance role, you will serve as a key leader within the finance department, driving the company's long-term financial strategies, operational performance, and overall business growth. You will provide high-level strategic guidance to executive leadership and support decision-making across departments to ensure financial sustainability, profitability, and alignment with the company's overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Forecasting:
- Lead the development and implementation of long-term financial strategies to support company growth and profitability.
- Provide detailed financial forecasting and budgeting; ensuring that financial planning aligns with business goals.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and assess strategic initiatives, including market expansion, acquisitions, and operational efficiency improvements.
Mergers, Acquisitions, and Investments:
- Provide financial due diligence and strategic analysis for potential mergers, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
- Support the integration of acquisitions and ensure alignment with the company's financial goals.
Financial Performance & Analysis:
- Drive performance analysis by identifying key financial metrics, interpreting data, and providing actionable insights to enhance decision-making.
- Ensure that financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) are accurate, timely, and aligned with strategic business goals.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews, helping to shape future financial forecasts and strategies.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting:
- Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and key stakeholders, highlighting both risks and opportunities.
- Act as the point of contact for investors, auditors, and financial partners.
- Provide clear and concise financial analysis to inform corporate strategy and decision-making.
Operational Finance Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including financial reporting, accounting, and internal controls.
- Ensure the company's financial health by implementing and maintaining robust financial systems and processes.
- Evaluate financial performance of various business units and departments to ensure operational efficiency.
Team Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Implement training and development programs to support the career growth of team members.
- Promote a strong control environment and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks across the organization.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure the company's assets are adequately protected.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements, economic factors, and industry trends, adjusting strategies as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role (Finance Director or similar).
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or professional certifications like CFA/CPA preferred).
Skills:
- Business acumen and commercial sense
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting.
- Experience in strategic planning and risk management.
- High-level understanding of corporate finance, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems and accounting software.
- Ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners.
