Job Summary: The Assistant Manager - Accounting will support the finance department in managing accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role involves overseeing daily operations, assisting with audits, and helping prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. The Assistant Manager will also mentor junior accounting staff and work closely with management to provide financial analysis for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flows) ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
2. General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including reconciling accounts and ensuring proper posting of transactions.
3.Accounts Payable/Receivable: Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
4. Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, reports, and explanations for audit queries.
5. Tax Compliance: Support in preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
6. Team Supervision: Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting processes, problem-solving, and development opportunities.
7. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls, enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
8.Collaboration with Departments: Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, sales, procurement) to ensure proper accounting of transactions and smooth inter-departmental communication.
Qualifications:
- Professional/post graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Good knowledge of GST and TDS provisions.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime accounting software .
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
