Location: Pune (Relocation to Pune is mandatory)

Must hold a B.Tech and MBA degree.

Post MBA experience: 8-14 years of experience in materials planning and control, inventory management, storage, warehousing, logistics, transport and distribution within the FMCG, Consumer Durable and auto industry.

Position Summary:

- Develop and implement a country business unit strategy to facilitate the cost-effective flow of Material from suppliers to customers.

- Direct all supply and logistics policies, procedures, and activities to maximize the efficiency, reliability, timeliness, and cost effectiveness of the organization's supply chain.

- Activities may include: materials planning and control, inventory management, storage, warehousing, logistics, transport and distribution.

- Oversee the budget. Monitor the performance of all supply and logistics activities against these goals. Research, negotiate, maintain, monitor, and regularly evaluate relationships and contracts with external suppliers so the organization has a reliable supply of goods and services that meet its standards of quality, timeliness and cost.

- Liaise with other senior executives across the organization (particularly in sales, customer service, production planning and group head quarter) to ensure supply and logistics strategies and activities are integrated with other parts of the business and aligned with the overall objectives. Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop staff. Strive to be the "lowest" total delivered cost of supply chain and to be a competitive advantage for the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Process:

- Leading the Sales & Operational Planning process, including Demand Review, S&OP Meeting.

- Leading all aspects of Warehousing and Logistics.

- Continually reviewing supply chain processes to improve efficiency and customer responsiveness and delivery performance.

- Leading the other Line Managers in the supply chain process. Managing dispatches and receipts to achieve delivery and responsiveness targets cost effectively.

- Evaluate logistics related opportunities and design, create and implement solutions with established metrics to measure performance.

Demand Management:

- Ensuring Demand Review process and estimate the demand requirements.

- Ensuring new item management process is effectively and accurately managed.

Planning:

- Managing planning and scheduling to achieve delivery and responsiveness targets cost effectively. Getting the Production Plan / Import Plan executed accordingly.

- Initiate Sales & Operations planning meeting every month to discuss demand and supply plans for M+3 months and discuss issues and challenges along with all the stake holders.

- Present highlights and improvements in the function through the SCM dashboard in S&OP meeting

Stock Management:

- Implementing an effective plan to optimize inventory levels and manage stock more efficiently.

- Ensuring that all stock issues to the plant are recorded accurately.

- Ensuring that an effective stock take procedure is put in place.

- Ensuring that slow moving stock is kept to agreed target levels.

- Run monthly review with key stakeholders (sales, management, operations) of slow moving stock view. Ensure the service level is achieved.

Purchasing:

- Ensuring the warehouse related materials are procured in a timely and cost competitive manner.

- Manage logistics contracts; ensure quality delivery performance with cost consciousness and provide input and support within contract negotiations.

- Work with external vendors to establish Supply Chain solutions and partnerships including service levels agreements.

Implementation of Process and Procedures:

- Monitor the cost and effectiveness of transport and distribution activities to optimize resources, priorities, reliability and safety standards. Monitoring the implementation of SOP process at C&F warehouses. Periodic visits to Pan India C&Fs. Explore innovative ideas for betterment.

- Involvement in projects identified and give value addition for success.

- Implement the latest techniques available in the logistic industry.

Systems:

- Ensure that all supply chain issues with systems are raised and addressed in a timely manner.

- Lead new supply chain system initiatives focusing on increase in productivity and reduction in cost.

- Communicate across all internal and external business partners to identify cost drivers and identify the most efficient processes and procedures across the organization and optimize cross-departmental interaction regarding logistics activities.

People:

- Work with the Sales team to implement improvement initiatives including documented supply chain protocols for all major customers.

- Work with the Operations team to ensure that capacity and efficiency initiatives involve relevant Team Leaders and shop floor employees.

- Plan and provide professional development of the Supply Chain Team.

- Operate an effective communication system to ensure staff are informed about all necessary information.

- Create and maintain a positive team environment.

- Implement KPI's as specified. Effectively facilitate day-to-day control of department team/individual activities. Lead and support team outputs to meet demand lead time levels.

- Ensure that all direct reports are adequately inducted and trained to carry out their job responsibilities and safety to the required standard.

- Manage the recruitment of new direct reports.

- Promptly manage and respond to disciplinary issues. Coach, support, and develop direct reports.

- Conduct performance appraisals as required. Promote employee relations to enhance the workplace environment.

Budgeting:

- Owning responsibility of P&L for the Supply chain, preparation of the yearly SCM Budget.

Audit & Compliance:

- Organizing Quarterly/Half yearly and annual inventory Physical count at all warehouses.

- Also frequent audit for local statutory compliances, SOP process, PODs and other related KPIs agreed.
