Job Description

Job Title: Contracts Manager

Job Description: We are currently seeking a skilled Contracts Manager to join our team. The Contracts Manager will play a vital role in overseeing all contractual aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract management within the Indian construction industry, along with strong negotiation and communication skills.


Responsibilities:
1) Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Preparation:

  • Collaborate with project teams to prepare accurate and detailed BOQs for construction projects.
  • Ensure BOQs comply with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and revise BOQs as necessary during the project lifecycle.

2) Vendor / Consultant Search and Selection:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, quotations, and bids to determine the most suitable options for projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.

3) Consultant Account Management:

  • Identify and engage with consulting firms, architects, engineers, and other professional consultants required for projects.
  • Manage relationships with consultants, ensuring clear communication and adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with consultants, including scope of work, fees, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate consultant activities and provide necessary support to ensure project success.


4) Budget Preparation:

  • Assist project teams in developing project budgets based on BOQs, cost estimates, and other relevant factors.
  • Monitor project budgets closely and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts to track project expenses and performance.

5) Contract Administration:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including construction agreements, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure all contracts are legally sound and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor contract performance and enforce compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract documents, correspondence, and changes.

6) Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issues.
  • Resolve disputes, conflicts, and claims in a timely and amicable manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. A postgraduate degree or certification in Contract Management is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management within the Indian construction industry.
  • Thorough understanding of Indian contract laws, regulations, and procurement practices.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD for reviewing and interpreting construction drawings.
  • Advanced Excel skills for budgeting, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
