Job Summary:

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems are functioning efficiently, meet industry standards, and comply with local regulations. The MEP Engineer will coordinate with architects, project managers, and contractors to deliver high-quality construction projects.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical (or related field).

Experience: Minimum of [Insert Years] years of experience in MEP engineering, preferably in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Design and Planning :

a) Design and review MEP systems ( Electrical, Mechanical,Plumbing, and fire protection) to meet project requirements.

b) Ensure designs are aligned with codes and regulations (such as ASHRAE, NEC, IPC, local building codes).

c) Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate MEP systems into building design.

d) Good understanding of HT to LT conversion in Electrical systems.

d) Read and Understand detailed MEP drawings and specifications for projects.

2. Project Coordination :

a) Coordinate MEP systems with structural and architectural elements to avoid conflicts.

b)Work closely with project teams to ensure efficient installation and integration of MEP systems.

c)Review shop drawings, submittals, and schedules for compliance with design standards and project requirements.

3.Installation and Supervision :

a) Supervise on-site installation of MEP systems and ensure they are implemented as per design and specifications.

b) Inspect and test installations to ensure systems are functioning properly and meeting performance standards.

c) Resolve on-site technical issues related to MEP systems.

4.Maintenance and Troubleshooting :

a) Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving MEP-related issues in operational buildings.

b) Develop maintenance procedures and schedules for MEP systems.

c)Compliance and Quality Control:

5.Budgeting and Cost Control :

a) Assist in preparing project cost estimates and budgets for MEP systems.

b) Monitor project expenditures related to MEP installations to ensure adherence to budget.

c) Provide value engineering solutions to optimize cost without compromising quality.

6. General Points :

a) Ensure MEP systems comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

b) Stay updated on local and international standards (e.g., LEED, Green Building, etc.) and implement them in projects.

c) Prepare documentation and reports for audits and compliance checks.

d) Attend project meetings and communicate MEP progress, challenges, and solutions effectively.

7. Technical Skills :

a) Proficient in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, etc.).

b) Knowledge of local and international MEP standards.

c) Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

d) Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

8.Soft Skills:

a) Strong problem-solving skills.

b) Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

c) Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
