Interview Questionnaire

6 Questions

  • Q1. It was a good experience to attend the rounds of interviews with ZestIOT. It's a typical tech startup and I was interviewed by the directors & founders. And perhaps it made the interview experience bit dif...
  • Q2. Basically in the first round I explained very well my career journey. Why I am applying to this role and how my skills can fit there requirement. Plus what I can do for the company as a professional what n...
  • Q3. How did you plan for a project? How do you handle customers? Can you give some experiences?
  • Q4. Try to be pragmatic and present a holistic view, not just a copy book answer. Everybody has read PMBOK or Agile Manifesto, and that's partly important. People value the ground reality. For example, I mentioned that I am pen & paper guy who makes notes on daily basis and make a to do list while planning my day. Gantt chart is there, but I trust on my diary more than the charts. I believe in white board to draw a plan, product roadmap if required. Handling a customer is never an easy task and will never be. So be honest. Customer is a pain point and you feel the pain. Most of the times you are blown away by their demands. If you have taken help from your executives to push the client, as you have anticipated that tomorrow this can go out of proportion, please admit it. Don't try to project yourself as the 'Shaktiman,' because they happen only on screen. Escalating to the right authority on time and resolving a problem shows that you know when to seek for help and from whom. Ultimately the success of the project is important, not who did it.
  • Q5. What is success & what is failure to you? How do you handle failure? - not much interviewer asks such questions, but I believe these are very important questions, if you want to succeed.
  • Ans.

Success is achieving goals and fulfilling expectations, while failure is a learning opportunity to improve and grow.

    • Success is meeting or exceeding expectations and achieving goals

    • Failure is an opportunity to learn and improve

    • Handling failure involves analyzing the situation, identifying the cause, and taking corrective action

    • Success and failure are subjective and can vary depending on the situation and individual goal...

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Try to be yourself and don't over commit on your skills. Because the other person is not a fool and if you can't cover up your tall claims of achievements, you will be outright rejected. People like to hire street smarts, but please do remember that a project manager in a company, especially in a small/ medium sized ones, is a damn important position. And the employer must hire someone who carries a very high level of integrity & maturity, over and above your technical skills.
