pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution on a scale of 0 to 14.
pH stands for 'potential of Hydrogen'
It measures the concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution
A pH of 7 is considered neutral, below 7 is acidic, and above 7 is alkaline
Examples: Lemon juice has a pH of around 2, while baking soda has a pH of around 9
UV spectroscopy is a technique used to analyze the absorption and transmission of ultraviolet light by a sample.
UV spectroscopy involves measuring the absorbance of ultraviolet light by a sample.
It works based on the principle that molecules absorb UV light at specific wavelengths.
The amount of absorption is proportional to the concentration of the absorbing species in the sample.
UV spectroscopy is commonly used in pha...
UV stands for ultraviolet, a type of electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light.
UV radiation is commonly emitted by the sun and can cause damage to skin and eyes.
UV radiation is categorized into UVA, UVB, and UVC based on wavelength.
UV light is used in various applications such as sterilization, tanning beds, and counterfeit detection.
Fingerprint region refers to a specific range of frequencies in an infrared spectrum that is unique to a particular molecule.
Fingerprint region is typically between 1500-500 cm^-1 in an IR spectrum.
It is used for identifying functional groups in organic molecules.
Each molecule has a unique fingerprint region due to its unique molecular structure.
UV spectroscopy measures the absorption of ultraviolet (UV) light by a sample.
UV spectroscopy is used to analyze the electronic transitions in molecules.
It is commonly used in pharmaceuticals, environmental monitoring, and material science.
UV spectroscopy typically ranges from 190 to 400 nm.
The Beer-Lambert law is often applied in UV spectroscopy to quantify the concentration of a sample.
UV spectroscopy can be used to ...

I applied via campus placement at Narsee Monjee Institute Of Management Studies (NMIMS) and was interviewed in Jul 2024. There was 1 interview round.
I am currently working on a project analyzing customer behavior in an e-commerce platform.
Using regression analysis to identify factors influencing customer purchase decisions
Applying clustering techniques to segment customers based on their behavior
Utilizing hypothesis testing to determine the effectiveness of marketing strategies
T-test is a statistical test used to determine if there is a significant difference between the means of two groups.
T-test is used to compare the means of two groups to see if they are significantly different.
Assumptions for t-test include normal distribution of data, independence of observations, and homogeneity of variances.
There are two types of t-tests: independent samples t-test and paired samples t-test.
T-distrib...
Descriptive statistics summarize data, while inferential statistics make predictions or inferences about a population based on a sample.
Descriptive statistics describe the main features of a dataset, such as mean, median, and standard deviation.
Inferential statistics involve making predictions or inferences about a population based on a sample, using techniques like hypothesis testing and confidence intervals.
Example: ...
Descriptive statistics techniques include measures of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, and kurtosis.
Measures of central tendency include mean, median, and mode.
Measures of dispersion include range, variance, and standard deviation.
Skewness measures the asymmetry of the data distribution.
Kurtosis measures the peakedness or flatness of the data distribution.
The three types of kurtosis are mesokurtic (normal distri...
Box plot is a visual representation of the distribution of a dataset, used to identify outliers and assess skewness.
Box plot displays the median, quartiles, and potential outliers of a dataset.
It is used to visually assess the spread, skewness, and presence of outliers in the data.
Skewness can be assessed from the box plot by observing the relative lengths of the whiskers and the position of the median.
P-value is a measure that helps determine the strength of evidence against the null hypothesis in statistical hypothesis testing.
P-value is the probability of obtaining results as extreme as the observed results, assuming the null hypothesis is true.
A low p-value (typically ≤ 0.05) indicates strong evidence against the null hypothesis, leading to its rejection.
For example, if a study comparing two drugs shows a p-value...
ANOVA is used to compare means of three or more groups. Assumptions include normality, homogeneity of variances, and independence.
ANOVA is used to compare means of three or more groups to determine if there is a significant difference among them.
Assumptions for ANOVA include normality of data within each group, homogeneity of variances between groups, and independence of observations.
Example: ANOVA can be used to compa...
Degree of freedom represents the number of independent values or quantities which can be assigned to a statistical distribution.
Degree of freedom is the number of values in the final calculation of a statistic that are free to vary.
In simple terms, it signifies the number of independent pieces of information available to estimate a parameter.
For example, in a t-test, the degree of freedom is n-1, where n is the sample ...

I applied via Recruitment Consulltant and was interviewed in Jul 2024. There was 1 interview round.
GD was with 2 team members and a director level person. Technical questions were asked by both team members which were around project management and fairly easy. Director level person, however, was more of a rude personality manager whose choice of interviewing involved asking a question and then interrupting the answer saying you should use only a single word. Question was "tell me about a time you had to deal with opposing ideas in a group setting". Considering the fact that I both worked and conducted sprints, this was right up my alley. I obviously went in for explaining the event using the STAR method (as the question itself was tell me about a time?) but she was adamant about a word. So i said what word i thought best and proceeded to explain event and then it was another question and another argument. 0 interest in hearing out my actual answer to that question. As this company is similar to my previous organization, I thought i will be patient during interview but she was only interested in arguing throughout. No semblance of interviewing, just plain brash rudeness and tyrant like behavior. 0/10 for interview, do not interview with this team or work under/for this person clearly. Employers need to get these egotistical directors in line who do not even understand how to conduct an interview or even have basic sense when talking with a stranger
