Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Questions were relatively easy apart from Java/DBMS which I found a little tricky hailing from ECE background.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: We were asked to choose our own topic. Being a national-level debater, GDs had always been my stronghold. I almost knew I was selected after the GD itself. In fact, before the final interview, one of the HRs told me that the senior HR (Sunil Raj, Executive) was already impressed with me and would select me.
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Mine was the shortest interview which lasted for hardly 5 minutes. The HR was already impressed with the GD and had decided to select me. He asked a few basic questions. I could not answer a couple of them. I still, was on top of that selection list. :)
Tips: Be yourself. If you are not too confident about DBMS, say it. But, at the same time try and convince the HR that if he selects you, you would leave no stone unturned to make sure they find you worthy of the risk.

General Tips: GD would be a big source of impact on the HRs. Try to rip it in the GD to enhance your chances. Brush up your concepts about DBMS and Java. Primary focus should be on DBMS.
Skills: Aptitude, Java Programming, Basic Knowledge Of DBMS
College Name: NIT Srinagar
Motivation: One of the major financial services providers across the globe, Polaris FT has developed a huge reputation for itself in all NITs/IITs.
Funny Moments: The funniest moment was when the junior HR had said to me before the interview that the senior HR was really impressed with me and would select me, I just needed to answer whatever I knew. However, I knew very little about DBMS/Java hailing from ECE background and I could see the reaction on the junior HR's face. However, later when another guy was going in for the interview, I opened the door for him, and the junior HR peeped out, and winked at me. I knew I was going to be selected.. :D
