Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Round 1: A video conference over Zoom with a panel of three based in Canada
Round 2: Face to face if the panelists are in India
A written test on the same day.
Round 3: HR

Ciena had a team of writers in Canada, but they reduced the team there and are now recruiting in India. The company is a good workplace, but doc management isn't. The Director sounded a bit cold. The lady was warm, and another manager acted too smart.

From some writers who worked there, the feedback isn't great. There is no proper doc workflow. To collect information, you must go to the engineer's desk or call him/her. No wiki or specs docs. No proper doc publication system either. You update the doc based on the input received from the management. The doc is just a support team here. No proper tools: some use FM, some docs are in Word and Powerpoint, and some in HTML. Hard set deadlines, but it's difficult to get reviews from engineers.

You are asked to come to the office every day. No work-from-home. If you WFH, the day is marked as a leave of absence from management. The company provides free cab service and lunch. Timings are from 8 AM to 5 PM.
