I recently graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering. I have secured a job as a Business Analyst at an eCommerce brand with a salary package of 4.5 LPA. Considering I graduated from a tier 3 college and got the job off-campus, is this a good package? I applied via campus placement at Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University and was interviewed in Jul 2024. There were 3 interview rounds.

Round 1 - Aptitude Test 

20 questions 40 minutes, 3 type of question easy, medium and hard each of 1, 3 and 5 points respectively, if you answer correct then you move above in difficulty else go down.

Round 2 - Technical

  • Q1. 20 questions 40 minutes same pattern as apti. Questions mainly from power electronics, network theory, machines and analog electronics

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - The whole interview held for me was to check my confidence level, quick thinking and decision-making. They grilled me on high flame for about 45 minutes asking questions that couldn't be answered directly or would hold me accountable as a wrong decision-maker. The trick is to smile and answer with confidence the whole time, and maintain the energy level from beginning to end at almost the same level. Communication in English is very crucial and they would judge it based on fluency, tonality etc.
One more piece of advice will be to dress well as I did I did catch the eye of the interviewer and he had a very positive outlook on me throughout and engaged with me more.
