Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I think the interviewers were very calm and composed to begin with. They were quite friendly which helped me cope up with the little nervousness I had. Secondly, it was a conversation mostly wherein they wanted to make sure about my background and my market research know-how. Also, there was a question about research methodology which I did not know and was straight forward with them about it.
My advise would be to have broad understanding of your career choices and why did chose them. Secondly, have sufficient examples to showcase your qualities and experiences. So just jot down examples from your previous job or college. Thirdly, note down about your strengths and weaknesses and be thorough of why are you saying them. All of this will make you interview ready for Kantar. All the best.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Questions are not difficult, Time management is very important. It was very well designed test our overall abilities and communication skills. Test was online conducted by cocubes. Out of 220+ students who attempted test, only 27 were selected to next round. I expected them to select some 70-80 after 1st round.
Tips: Questions carry 1/3rd negative marks. Don't try to answer questions in order, find out easy questions and solve them first, as I said earlier, Time management is very important. I attempted arithmetic reasoning first, English (Verbal ability) next and then mathematical ability.
Duration: 45 minutes
Total Questions: 40

Round: Interview
Experience: I focused more on my approach to solve the puzzle and that paid off. I didn't prepare for puzzles either so I tried to solve it in my own way and that might have impressed the interviewer. Some other questions like how many benches are there in this campus ? and If I wanted to start a Food center in the campus, How many customers can I expect etc questions were asked. These questions don't have any perfect answer but they see the way in which you attempt and explain it convincingly.
Tips: Be confident. If they ask anything, answer properly so If they ask questions like How many customers can I expect a day after starting a food court in your college, don't just give any random number, try to do some math and give a number so that you can explain why you gave that number .

Round: Interview
Experience: This Interview is one of the best Interview Experiences I had. I was Interviewed by one of the senior vice presidents of the company. I enjoyed answering it. I know my strengths and weaknesses and I was frank to state my weaknesses and explained how I will over come them in my work place and all. I was asked a lot of questions and some times the interviewer twisted questions to see If I'm answering sincerely or just giving fake answers to the questions. This interview went so well that I was sure of my selection after this round.

And Interestingly, of the 27 members that were selected to 1st round of Interviews, I was 10th one as names were written alphabet wise. But I was the first one to be called out for 2nd round Interview.
Tips: Be clear and Confident with your answers. Answer after thinking for a while, they won't expect instant answers. Remember what you have answered as they might ask the same question again and you might get caught answering differently ( This happens when you fake your experiences and answers). Be frank, Sincere. You know your strengths and try to state your strengths to them (They might not ask you to say your strengths, you have to include them in some answers). Think different and answer in a way that most others won't.

Round: Interview
Experience: As I was confident of my selection after 2nd round of Interview, I stuck to my plans and answered well. I think this round was just to see If I would Join the company or not.
Tips: Stick to what you have answered earlier, they might compel you to change your answers just to see If you are confident with your answers. Remember that Raju's Interview in 3 Idiots ? He will be asked to be more diplomatic but he rejects that Idea .. My Interview was also similar.

Skill Tips: Answers which you read in internet are not your experiences, so they aren't to be copied. Assess yourself and your answers have to reflect your experiences. I didn't prepare anything for Campus placements as I was confident of my skills. I took time in analyzing myself and the way in which I have to project myself in Interviews. I didn't prepare for GD's and PI's .
Skills: Analytic abilities, Convincing skills, Communication skills, My approach to problems, My attitude
College Name: NIT SURAT

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: 70 people shortlisted probably by cv and pre-assessment test results.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: 70 shortlisted candidates were divided into 10 groups of 10. GD started, we sat in a circle around a table. All of us were handed a booklet and rough sheets. The interviewers told us that the booklet had three sections. Each section contained some data about a company followed by a question. We, as a group had to answer the three questions within one hour. He, himself suggested that we take twenty minutes per section - 5 mins to go through the data, fifteen to discuss and come to a conclusion. The first section gave us an idea about the company and asked some general questions about decreasing costs. Generic case study stuff. The next two sections were quant heavy. Required us to do a lot of calculations albeit simple. We divided the task among the group members. Ran out of time before solving the third question. Interviewer stepped in and helped us reach a conclusion. We were asked to leave the rough sheet behind. One of the longest and most civil Gds that I have attended. A wonderful experience.
Tips: Try to help move the discussion forward. Draw out your calculations and tables in the rough sheet. Let others speak, one hour is enough time for everyone to shine :).

Round: Case Study Interview
Experience: One interviewer. Small talks about the GD. A moderately long case followed by two short cases. The cases involved some quants. Nothing fancy. I did not follow any framework but he did not seem to mind. He helped me out any place that i got stuck. Asked me about why Dunnhumby. Nailed this answer. Did not ask a lot a questions from my cv, just about an internship i had done at a startup. Asked me whether i was comfortable with coding, told him i had not coded since my first year at college. That was it. Shaked hands and asked me to wait outside. HR came and told me i got the job.
Tips: Think out loud. Whatever you are thinking when looking at the tables or numbers, just speak them out loud for the interviewer so that he knows your thought process. Learn about the company a little bit before showing up for the interview. I was asked only cases, I heard others were asked guesstimates as well.

General Tips: Case in Point is more than enough as far as preparation is concerned. A good CV and CGPA helps. Don't worry, I myself lacked both :P
Skills: Ability To Work In A Team, Case Solving Ability, Quant+Math
College Name: IIT Kharagpur
Motivation: Wanted a job as an analyst with a good work-life balance and a moderately good pay.
