If you are under 30, I urge you to invest in developing your skills, as money will follow. Although there are many opportunities in India, there is a lack of candidates who possess the skills that employers seek.

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Some "vendor * called me last month informing me about a job opening at TCS and really encouraged me to apply. Another vendor called me a couple of days ago and I told him that someone else has already submitted my profile. I got a call in the evening for a telephonic round. It was quite a boring interview to say the least. I already had several international teaching and training certifications plus abroad training experience across all ages at renowned multinational firms before applying. There were no questions asked about the technicalities of voice and Accent training, curriculum design, process training, etc. which are things I have thorough experience in. In fact I've trained TCS employees in two foreign languages onsite. They told me I had a heavy US Accent. I thought that the goal was to help neutralize accents of other employees and help them be understood and understand foreign clients easily. The person who called me had a heavy Indian accent and evidently lacked understanding of global "accents" or rather "lack of them". My advice is - only apply if you are ready to unlearn the best of knowledge you might have to do things their way. They just lost a great trainer of trainers who could help them in different processes in two global languages plus several local languages. I sometimes think they conduct interviews just to check out what's available in the market, or who their competitors are hiring.
