6 Questions

  • Q1. Based on HR/personals and basic quants
  • Q2. On personal history and short term/long term plans
  • Q3. On professional experience
  • Q4. Quick mental maths
  • Q5. Prior personal investment
  • Q6. Philosophy/experience and knowledge and keenness w.r.t. the PE industry/company

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: HR Interview
Experience: I knew the company history well and had good answers for why ChrysCapital?
I had done a lot of research on the company (knew background of all employees, fund raising history etc)

What went wrong/right:
Wrong: I was extremely nervous in the beginning
Right: 1) I knew the company history well and had good answers for why ChrysCapital?
2) Allowed the second interview to go towards Macro eco instead of hard numbers. Could discuss in depth about oil for half an hour.
3) Was able to work with numbers (Finac fundamentals) in my head (under stress) quickly. Was able to look at its business implications.
Tips
Tips: Prepare well on company history.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Second round was to focus on discussion about a particular company in depth to see the finance skills but went to a higher level with a half an hour discussion focussing on macro economy and oil prices and the business of investing.

Allowed the second interview to go towards Macro eco instead of hard numbers. Could discuss in depth about oil for half an hour.

I think they were looking for:
1) Interest in finance in general, the PE industry and the company in particular
2) Personal and professional fit with the company (since there are small teams, this is very important in PE)
3) Ease with numbers and business /economic sense
Tips: Read newspapers regularly/had strong views about macro eco
Be very strong with 2-3 sectors and have a basic idea about 6-8 sectors.

Round: Case Study Interview
Experience: The third round was a panel interview taken by both MDs together wherein I had to calculate the ROCE for a tech company. It went in a case like manner but I had to remember all the numbers in the mind.

Was able to work with numbers (Finac fundamentals) in my head (under stress) quickly. Was able to look at its business implications.
Tips: Practise atleast a few case interviews even if not interested in Consults. It helps in structuring the interview better.

Skills: Mental Math, Macroeconomics
College Name: IIM Bangalore

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Not a pleasant experience. Although the job profile and role was of Database testing only. But both HR and interviewer said, they were looking for a person having mix of UI, Database and API testing. However, interviewer's mostly questions were focused on database only.
It has become a common norm that HR and interviewer does not open their cameras during virtual interview but expect the candidate to open their camera. Technical Interviewer joined 5-10 minutes late in call, when he joined HR greeted him and said Hi Sir. Later on she also asked me to greet him!! In fact, interviewer was quite rude (video camera was already off) and didn't even disclosed his name also (He used initials like SK234097). In the interview, it appeared that he was not able to understand English as a couple of times, he asked to speak slow. He demanded every answer to be explained in detail and with an example, if he was not satisfied with my answer he keep on asking me to explain in different words. Similarly when he asked me a question (and if I did not understand that), I also asked him to explain the question in detail but he kept on repeating that one liner question every time (That behavior showed his stubborn nature and bossiness)

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - *CHANGE YOUR GENDER AS A BEAUTIFUL GIRL AND THEN ATTEND THE INTERVIEW IN THIS BEGGER COMPANY.*

The worst interview ever in my life till now for SSM/SPA role in an insurance company, Gallagher needed 400 SSMs and the walk-in drive was also huge, but the crazy thing starts from here, the first round was HR (HR executives cleared everyone just for the name sake), second round was L&D in which some 4-5 guys were filtering everyone except *BEAUTIFUL GIRLS*, I don't remember the exact name of my interviewer (vishvesh/Chandrashekar), he is just a MF, with his warm welcoming style like handshake and with his smile majority of the crowd thought they got selected for the next round (even though my friends and I interacted with this MF in a good manner and also with proper english without grammatical mistakes), this MF says wait for sometime we will update you and after sometime HR PONAPPA calls your name and says " I'M SORRY, YOU NEED TO IMPROVE YOUR COMMUNICATION, YOU CAN LEAVE FOR THE DAY"..

Yaar tum jaise MC ki wajah se bahut saare ladkon ka jeena haram ho chuka he..

inn MC ko keeda chubta rehta he g**nd me isiliye ghanto tak wait karvate he hame woh bhi bina paani,

Mujhe 100% yakeen he ki yeh log sirf company ka paisa lootne ke liye 400 SSMs vacancies update kiye the naukri me..

Mein khud mere aankhon se dekha hu ki yeh log sabko vapas bhej rahe the sirf KHUBSURAT LADKIYON ko rakh ke (lagta he lap dance karvaane ka shock he inhe)..

Ek baat bolo jo bhi India me rehta he unka english Indian accent ka hota he, chalo mein bhi maanta hu agar kuch galati hogaya grammer me toh theek, magar thanda dimak se aaraam se hum log baat kar rahe the without grammatical mistakes, iske baad bhi inn haram zaade hamare saath khel liya, mere 1100₹ bhi barbaad hogaya transportation me aur khane me..

Just for your reference guys, if you're a girl that too a beautiful girl then you can attend this company and I'm 100% sure they'll select you..
