Tips: 1. They ask you to write complete code on paper. This sometimes turn out to be a challenging task when you don't have compiler to correct you on basic things. Practice writing codes on paper.

Tips: They will try to grill you on some questions like 'Why we should hire you?', have a clear reason in your mind. Your other answers should not contradict with your reasons

General Tips: I don't know about other colleges but HP recruits small number of students from my university. Coding questions were average level and can easily be tackled. Many students were rejected after HR interview so don't take it lightly. They do grill you in a very good style if they are in doubt about your selection

3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: My Final Year Thesis was on Data Analytics which was a big plus. I was asked general questions on the aim of my project and how can I sell it to the concerned persons. It was a short interview of about 15-20 mins.
I told the interviewer that 5-10 degree would be the angle at which the plane will be descending but he forced that it is too less. Having seen a lot of air crash investigations, I was sure about it and confidently proved that 5-10 degrees is good enough by assuming the altitude at which the plane flies.
Tips: Practice Guessestimates. Be confident on what you say. You should be thorough with every point written on your resume.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It wasn't hard to convince him about going for Job instead of MS/MBA. No such difficulty in answering the questions put forth by the interviewer.

Skills: Confidence, Knowledge of Analytics

Duration: 12 minutes

Experience: The second round was a test of your coding ability, again basic C++ questions, which could be solved easily with some practice of competitive coding.

Experience: Most of the puzzles asked were of standard type, that can be practiced by following any standard text book or any site.
Tips: Keep discussing puzzles among your group, that would benefit you and the group at the same time.

Round: interview 2
Experience: It was a test of my approach to any question rather than the exact solution. It was kind of a very interactive session rather than a formal one. They asked questions related to the courses that I had undergone and not anything from some other planet.
Tips: Feel free to ask the interviewer for some hints or if your approach is correct or not.

General Tips: Be confident and just try to tackle every problem in a very organised manner (as you would have practiced before in your group or during practice).
